Simon Says...Hip Hop

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
HIP HOP
I created an art journal page using the very "HIP" goat from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Hipster stamp set and to tie in with the HIP HOP theme...added some musical sections from Idea-ology Melange Tissue Wrap...

I created the background using a brayer...randomly applying Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint...
followed by Twisted Citron...
and then torn strips of Idea-ology Melange Tissue Wrap fixed down with Distress Collage Medium Matte...
I inked the Stampers Anonymous Halftone and Rings with Walnut Stain and Fired Brick Distress Oxide Inks to create some background interest...
and applied Black Soot and Fired Brick Distress Inks with a blending tool through stencils from Mini Layering Stencil Sets 2 and 27...
I stamped the goat image from the Stampers Anonymous Hipster stamp set 3 times on to Ranger Watercolor Card with Black Archival and the tie section with Carnation Red Archival...
coloured the images with Distress Re-inkers using the Ranger Detailer Brush...
and die cut with the matching Sizzix Framelits...I love that there is a die for his specs...
Then it was time for the old "stamping the sentiment on to Plain Tissue Wrap with the Misti" trick...
applied to the background with Ranger Collage Medium Matte.  I added Idea-ology Transparent Tile Alphas...Quote Chips and Label Letters on Vial Labels...
and Grunge Paper Alphabets.  The Grunge Paper line of products is now discontinued which means I've gone into "use it sparingly" hoarding mode but Simon Says Stamp still has packs of Grunge Paper in stock which means you can die cut your own alphabets if you have suitable dies...such as Sizzix/Tim Holtz BigZ Word Play...
I added a Collectors Layer inked with Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink...
and I have to confess the background was looking a little bit uninspiring and needed something to liven it up a little so I added circles using Candied Peel Distress Paint and the cap from the bottle as a stamp...
repeating with Picket Fence Distress Paint and a slightly smaller bottle cap...
