I Only Have Eyes For You

Hi folks, I'm sharing a card I made with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cadaverous and the inspiration for this card was those fabulous Idea-ology Creepy Eyes, a perfect fit for the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Masquerade Thinlits die.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 6" and coloured with Antique Linen, Carved Pumpkin and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks using the technique I'm sure you are all familiar with by now.
I added Walnut Stain through the Eye Chart Layering Stencil using a mini round blending tool and spritzed with water to fade the ink out a little bit.
I die-cut the Masquerade Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card and used the Diamond Mini Layering Shifter Stencil from Set 36 to decorate with Carved Pumpkin and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks.
I inked the eye image from Cadaverous with Black Soot Distress Archival ink, added Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on the edges of the panel and around the edge of the Masquerade die-cut. I fixed the die cut to the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Black Classic KraftStock and die cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix CutOut Script Thinlits and added Idea-ology Small Talk stickers to complete the sentiment.
While I was rummaging through the embellishments stash, I found these black feathers, no idea where I bought them or when.
but they were perfect for adding a touch of elegance to the Masquerade mask along with the black and gold sparkly gems.

I fixed the negative eye sections from the original die cut back in place and added just the pupils from the Idea-ology Creepy Eyes.  It was a bit tricky to remove the pupils and on my first attempt to prise them off with my trusty Craft Pick, I did stab my finger. So I'm sharing my little trick. Place the eye on a cloth so that it doesn't slide around, poke the Craft Pick into the white area at the edge of the pupil and gently move it around until the pupil is detached. I matted the panel on to panels of white and black card and then fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
The new Distress Oxide Sprays and their Storage Tin have arrived, so today is going to be a making swatches kind of a morning.
But the first job, is to look out the all important SplatBox unless I want to spend the rest of the day hosing down my workdesk, the floor and everywhere else within a radius of a mile.
Toodle-oo for now
