Hope Is Never Lost Or Is It...

Hi my friends, can you believe it's May 1st already, the day when, apparently, we should all be washing our faces in my early morning dew to prevent wrinkles and aging...well, let's just say, if it worked, someone would have bottled it as a magical elixir years ago and with no hope of me turning back the clock, I think I'll give it a miss. Instead I'm sharing a very simple card with an encouraging message using one of the left over backgrounds from a recent play day with Tim Holtz Distress Alcohol and Alcohol Alloy inks.

Time to tackle the very bright, very pink and red with hints of gold background second from the right
I die-cut different sized Hexagons using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Hexagon Tiles
trimmed Simon Says Stamp Ultra White card to create a 4" x 6" card blank and stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Handwritten Thoughts inked with Black Soot Archival ink.
I arranged the hexagons around the sentiment fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte, die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Garden Greens Thinlits from the Simon Says Stamp card and popped up on small pieces of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
To add a little bit of gold sparkle and shine to match in with the Gilded Alcohol Alloy ink on the hexagons, I used a handy tip from my adorable Professor. Who knew if you spritzed card or paper (in this case I used a scrap of Idea-ology Classic Metallic 1 KraftStock) with Distress Refresher, it would become pliable enough to scrunch in your hand and create amazing wrinkly texture.
I die-cut 4 different sizes of daisy using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Small Tattered Florals, layered, scrunched to lift the petals and added a black self adhesive gem in the centre.
Now I need to figure out what to make with the left over panel
But before that fun adventure can begin, I need to co-ordinate and consolidate yesterday's play day debris, in other words, get stuck in, have a good old clear up and make way for some recent purchases.
Yes, it's confession time, I've been very naughty and I fear that any hope of ever changing my ways is lost completely. This stay at home regime certainly has benefits, what would normally be spent on trips out and about, coffees and lunches with friends, fuelling the old jalopy for forays into the countryside has boosted the cubbyhole economy considerably and has been burning a hole in my proverbial pockets so when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping resulting in a growing mountain of "not going anywhere for the foreseeable future" cardboard because the garage is full of garden waste and car boot goodies.
All the boxes are empty apart from that long thin skinny one which contains a lovely surprise gift which I'll be sharing with you once I tackle the assembly. In the meantime, back to the crafty tidy up, enjoy your weekend and I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx

  4. The cardboard makes great backgrounds for future cards and ATCs (after its sprayed with disinfectant of course). So just cut that stuff up into 4x6, 5x7, 4.25 x 5.5, 2.5 x 3.5, etc., etc., etc. Nothing is ever wasted; create, create, create. LOL
