Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
SUMMER MEMORIES
None of us will forget the challenges of Summer 2020 but I'm focusing on happy summer memories past and present on my Art Journal page inspired by bird feathers found in my garden recently, memories of picking wild blueberries on woodland walks with Buddy and my love of butterflies.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 6" x 8" to fit in my Dina Wakley Blue Media Journal. I smooshed a Custom Blend ink pad created with Iced Spruce DO, Hickory Smoke DI, Weathered Wood DO and Old Paper DI Reinkers on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, pressed the card into the ink and dried to create a light neutral background. I repeated the process with Speckled Egg and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide inks, drying between layers. I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type inked with Iced Spruce and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks.
I inked the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Field Notes with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and stamped on to the background and masking paper, using the masks to create a collage effect.
I used Vintage Photo Distress Re-inker with a Distress Detailer Brush to add shadowing around each stamped image.
I applied Distress Translucent Grit Paste through the Brick Mini Layering Stencil from Stencil Set 3, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge and Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glazes, tapped my fingers on the back of the card to mix up the powders and set aside to dry. Once the paste was dry, I heat set the embossing glazes, added shadowing over the textured surface with Vintage Photo Distress Re-inker and then rubbed Picket Fence over the surface with my fingers.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstroke and Scribbly Butterflies Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Iced Spruce, Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks using a Distress Detailer Brush, drying each layer before adding more colour
I fixed the bird feathers and Brushstroke die-cuts in place using Distress Collage Medium Matte and Sizzix Foam Adhesive and added splatters of Speckled Egg and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks.
I die-cut an extra Scribbly Butterfly and coloured by dipping into Vintage Photo and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks which had been spritzed with water. I fixed the first butterfly in place with Distress Collage Medium and added the other, fixed only along the body section to create dimension. I rubbed the Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink pad around the edge of the card and fixed inside the journal using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I fixed stickers from the Idea-ology Clippings Stickers book to scraps of Distress Watercolor card and trimmed.
I fixed the stickers in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and scribbled around the edge with a Kelly Creates Black Fine Line Pen.
