Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Dearly Departed

 Hi my friends, if you've just come from watching the Facebook Live launch of the latest release from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous, you'll know that Tim has done it again with a great mix of stamps and stencils, some themed Halloween and spooky and others that can be used for all occasions. I love "more bang for your buck" stamp sets such as Dearly Departed with that gorgeous floral image, the  two beautiful Tapestry backgrounds, not to mention a new collection of Snarky Cats and be still my beating heart, all those gorgeous bugs in Specimen. To celebrate the release, I made a card using Dearly Departed and Tapestry and added texture using the Script Layering Stencil.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 5.1/2" x7.1/2", smooshed a Custom Blend ink pad on to my Glass Media Mat (Antique Linen DI, Speckled Egg DO, Old Paper DI and Frayed Burlap DO), spritzed with water and laid the card on the ink. I dried the card, tapped back into the ink to pick up the droplets and repeated to create a soft neutral background. I inked the background from Tapestry with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and stamped on to the background. I stamped the floral and script images from Dearly Departed inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.

I flicked splatters of water on to the panel using the Distress Sprayer, sprinkled with Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set. I applied Distress Grit Paste through the Script Layering Stencil, sprinkled with Antique Linen and Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glazes, heat set when the paste had dried to add some subtle colour.

I coloured a second panel of Distress Watercolor card with the Custom Blend Ink pad as before, added some extra Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink into the mix, stamped the floral image and ticket from Dearly Departed inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and fussy cut.

I fixed the flowers to the panel using Distress Collage Medium

I matted the panel on to slightly bigger panels of white and kraft card, fixed Idea-ology Mummy Cloth across the panel, added Mummy Cloth and Eclectic Elements Thread bows and the fussy cut ticket.

I fixed the panel to a 6" x 8" white card blank, covered with brown Idea-ology Classic Kraftstock
