Goodbye 2020

Hi my friends, it's the last of day of 2020, a year that has been challenging in so many ways and a year that we certainly will not remember with much fondness. It's Hogmanay in Scotland, normally a night of celebration when we visit friends and neighbours to welcome in the new year. I'm just praying that people will be sensible, stay at home, not hold parties or congregate outdoors in large numbers but we've been here before and there is no cure for stupid. The end of the year means the cubbyhole gets a good clean and it's the ideal time for me to indulge in a bit of re-organising ready for new 2021 products. Anyone who knows me, will tell you I love organising and finding better storage solutions which is why I was over the moon to find these plastic bins back in stock at my local Home Bargains. After much moving around and re-labelling, I'm ready to step into a new year with a happy "love a bit of organising" heart. With some "taking time off from crafty deadline" days ahead, I decided to have another go at completing some of the "failed miserably" Christmas projects starting off with these cuties which are basically round wooden shapes with rub-on faces and curly hair which I've had in my stash since the year dot and just happened to stumble across when I was looking for something else.I created Angel Ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree or just hang on a wall as a reminder of the hope we all have that 2021 will be a better, happy and healthy year. I used Sizzix Circle dies and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winged 3D Impresslits and Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text.

I began by die-cutting 3.1/2" circles using Sizzix Circle dies and embossed using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Simple Snowflakes Embossing FolderI trimmed the circles to create a triangle shaped body, smooshed Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, picked up the colour, dried and tapped back in to the droplets to pick up the remaining ink. I dried and flicked on splatters of Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray.I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winged 3D Impresslits from Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStockrubbed over with Walnut Stain Distress Crayon to accent the detail and buffed off the excess with a cloth.I trimmed Idea-ology Metallic KraftStock to be slightly larger than the embossed shape, fixed the wings in place with Distress Collage Medium and added the embossed shape on topI inked the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text with Black Soot Distress Archival, stamped on to scraps of Distress White HeavyStock and die-cut with Simon Says Stamp Nested Banners.I matted the sentiments on to Idea-ology Gold Metallic KraftStock, trimmed to leave a small border and fixed to the angel dresses. I added the head and a thread loop to hang.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year, may you be blessed with health and happiness in 2021
Hugs Kath xxx
