Simon Says - Recycle

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
RECYCLE
I recycled the packaging sheet from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Layers Engraving to use as a background for  my card and added bits of lace and buttons recycled from an old top. I decorated with Layers Engraving images coloured using the Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder/ Distress Crayon technique from a recent Tim Holtz YouTube Live demo and added Idea-ology Mini Marquee Letters. If you missed the Live, you can rewatch HERE.

I trimmed the packaging to create a 4" x 6" panel and rounded the corners. I applied a layer of Dina Wakley Media Clear Gesso over the panel to give some tooth to the slick surface.
I applied Ranger Distress Crackle Texture Paste through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brick Mini Layering Stencil from Set 3 and set aside to wait for the magical crackle to appear.
I inked the script stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type with Dusty Concord Distress Archival and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly on the panel. I applied Twisted Citron Distress Paint through the Bubble Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5 using a mini round blending tool and domed foam.
I tapped the Distress Embossing Ink Dauber over the Idea-ology Layers Engraving images, sprinkled with Ranger Frosted Crystal Antiquities Embossing Powder and heat set until the image appeared clear again. If you overheat and the surface turns shiny, you have over-cooked your goose and the following technique won't work.
I scribbled Distress Crayons on to my Glass Media Mat and coloured the images using a Distress Detailer Brush.
To create shading and deeper colour in the darker areas of the flower, I dried the tip of the Distress Detailer Brush off on kitchen towel and picked up the intense colour directly from the crayon.
I cut a slit along the front edge of the tea-cup using Tim Holtz Craft Knife and tucked in the stems of the flower and leaves.
I added bits of lace and buttons, fixed the teacup in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and fixed Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive behind the flowers and leaves to create dimension.
I fixed Idea-ology Mini Marquee Letters in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte
and added the word "time?" trimmed from an Idea-ology Snarky Big Talk sticker

I scored and folded white card to create a 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" blank, rounded the corners and fixed the panel in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte/
