Simon Says - Whatever The Weather

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
WHATEVER THE WEATHER
I created an Art Journal page featuring that age old saying "April Showers bring May Flowers" using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Architecture, Faded Type and Grunged stamps, Splotches and Mini Floral Layering Stencils to add interest to the background and decorated with the umbrella from Tim Holtz/Sizzix The Gent, flowers from Funky Nature and Aphanumeric Stretch Lower, Bold and Tiny Type Upper Thinlits for the title.

I began by brayering Hickory Smoke Distress Paint over the pages in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal and then applied Picket Fence Distress Paint using Tim Holtz Distress Brayers. I added Fossilized Amber Distress Paint through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Splotches Layering Stencil using a Distress Domed Foam Pad. I inked up one of the stamps from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Architecture with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly on the background.
I stamped the script from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type, inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. To frame the pages, I stamped another image from the same stamp set, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, randomly around the edges.
I die-cut the umbrellas from papers from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Backdrops 1 and 2 using Tim Holtz/Sizzix The Gent Thinlits.
and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Neutral KraftStock
I applied Distress Crackle Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Floral Layering Stencil from Set 25.
I fixed the top umbrella in place using Distress Collage Medium Matte, trimmed and fixed the right hand piece of the other umbrella up against the fold of the page. I set aside the left hand piece until I had added the die-cut flowers. I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to scraps of Distress Watercolor card, BlackOut KraftStock and the left over paper from Idea-ology Backdrops 1 and die-cut the title using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Stretch Lower, Bold and Tiny Type Upper Thinlits and fixed in place with the help of Tim's Squeezers, my new best friend.

I decided to introduce a touch of green to tie-in with the flower foliage and randomly stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Grunged, inked with Peeled Paint Distress Archival.
I die-cut the flowers from scraps of Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Nature Thinlits and coloured with Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness Distress Re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I fixed the flowers in place, added the left hand section of the umbrella and decorated with extra flowers. I added splatters using the left over Crackling Campfire Distress Re-inker from my glass media mat.
