Is It Summer?

Happy Friday my friends, I don't want to tempt fate but I think Summer has finally arrived in the UK and I've been spending mornings in the cubbyhole and afternoons in the garden topping up my Vitamin D levels, dividing my time between my two happy places is the best of both worlds. I'm sharing cards I made recently using Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit - Rainbow Is My Favorite Color and the Fading Hearts 4" x 9" stencil from the latest Rainbows release.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 3.1/4" x 8.1/4" and blended Distress Oxide Inks (Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean and Dusty Concord) through the Simon Says Fading Hearts Stencil from the Rainbows release.
I stamped the sentiment and clouds from Simon Says Rainbow Is My Favorite Color stamp set from the June Card Kit, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink and added a heart inked with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink.

I trimmed the panel to 3" x 8", matted on to a panel of black card and fixed to a white Slimline card blank.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and used the Build A Rainbow Stencil from the card kit with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to create a soft cloudy sky.
I inked the rainbow strips from the stamp set with the Simon Says ink cubes (Hot Lips, Sunshine, Jellybean and Audrey Blue, included with the card kit.
I used the stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink to add individual clouds, stamped the cloud outlines from the stamp set slightly offset and the sentiment, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
I stamped the hearts from the stamp set inked with Hot Lips.
I fixed Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal Sequins in place with dots of Distress Collage Medium, added shading to the edges of the panel using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

I'm planning a weekend in the garden because the "put on hold for 18 months" garden make-over is finally back on track and with available landscape gardeners rarer than hens' teeth at the moment, it looks like it's going to be another DIY effort. But with one ton of gravel to be moved from the front of the house to the back, I've realised that my one bucket at a time regime is going to take forever and hey, I know my limitations so I've called in the cavalry, the young and fit brigade (sons and grandkids) who I'm sure will make light work of it as long as I keep them well fed and watered.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.
Hugs Kath xxx
