Hello my friends, it's Happy Thursday. Simon Says Stamp have a just released their new collection - Rain Or Shine. There are lots of fabulous new products in this release and you can check them all out HERE.
I created a card using Simon Says Pretty Poppies wafer dies, coloured with Distress Oxide inks, the butterflies and sentiment from the Loving Thoughts 6" x 8" stamp set on a background of Simple Stories Color Palette Warm Washi Tape. I used my go-to custom blend ink pad (Iced Spruce/Weathered Wood Distress Oxides and Hickory Smoke/Old Paper Distress Inks) to create a neutral background on an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card.I added strips of Simple Stories Color Palette Warm Washi Tape and fixed in place torn strips of script paper from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Serendipity Collage Papers, with Distress Collage Medium, all included in Simon Says Stamp April 2025 Card Kit.I die-cut Simon Says Pretty Poppies wafer dies from Distress Watercolor card, placed on my Simon Says Pawsitively Perfect Craft Tacky Mat and coloured with Scattered Straw, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn and Scorched Timber Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Stamp Detail Round Blending Brushes.I assembled the die-cuts and fixed to the panel with 3D foam squares behind the flower heads to create dimension.I stamped the butterflies from Simon Says Stamp Loving Thoughts 6" x 8" stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on to a scrap of Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Stamp White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I fussy cut around the sentiment and fixed in place with 3D foam squares.I trimmed the panel to 3.3/4" x 5", matted on to Distress Black HeavyStock trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank. To finish I used a Sakura Black Glaze Pen to darken the poppy centres and to add dots to the petals.
I'll be back tomorrow to share more makes with products from the Rain or Shine release.
Hugs Kath xxx

Beautiful card - I love the poppies, but most of all I love the background you created. I have two questions if you'd have a minute to reply. When you say you used two Oxide colours and two Distress colours, do you mix them on the same Custom Pad? Do you put the reinkers in stripes on the pad, or just drop them randomly and let them mix together? Many thanks. Susan
ReplyDeleteit is a mix of oxides and inks on the same pad which is OK and the reinkers were applied in stripes across the pad
