hoop-de-doo news...

Hi folks...I know you're all going to be thinking that I've finally lost my marbles...Ok it's true there are some days that I don't fire on all cylinders in the memory department and I hold my hands up to having more than my fair share of little hiccupy senior moments such as forgetting to pick up my suitcase at baggage reclaim and locking down the whole of Birmingham airport but let me put your mind at rest...I haven't totally succumbed to the dottery old woman syndrome just yet...well perhaps just a little bit.
I'm sharing some hoop-de-doo crafty news today and making no apologies for telling you all again that my local crafty store THE PAPETERIE won BEST CRAFT RETAILER SCOTLAND in the Immediate Media British Craft Awards 2013 at the CHSI Trade Show in Birmingham...voted into first place by you...the customer.  I'm mega mega chuffed to bits for Charlotte and her team who work their socks off to make THE PAPETERIE a premier crafting destination...keeping abreast of the latest trends and making the customers happy happy and oh my giddy aunt...here comes the muchly excited...in fact thricely excited bit...you are going to be positively ecstatic about the fabulous treats that Charlotte has lined up for all the lucky crafters who live in this neck of the woods...not ONE...not TWO...but THREE fabulous mega inspirational crafty persons will be heading to THE PAPETERIE in the coming months for your delight and delectation and kicking off the fun will be...
the adorable and very talented Nikky Hall from Polkadoodles on the 11th May...
followed by the Queen of Spellbinders...the sweet Sue Wilson on the 6th July
and before you have time to recover...the one and only Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps will be winging her way back to Scotland on 13th July
Exciting isn't it...it's sit down and take a deep breath news but please take care if you're currently dancing across the ceiling...all demos are free and I bet there will be fabulous special offers to tempt you to get creative on the day so I think now might be a good time to dust off your piggy bank and start saving some crafty pennies. But it's back to the day job and first task of the day for the cubbyhole crew is to tidy up yesterday's creative chaos...
and move on to the next job on the crafty list.  Thank you all for your blog birthday good wishes and I have to say I had a little giggle at the "here's to the next 5 years" comments...I think you're forgetting this crafty girl is now skidding uncontrollably down age's slippery slope...so no guarantees...let's just see how it goes.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  1. Hi Kath. Although I am down in Fife, I intend to visit for the marvellous visitors, it's my only chance of seeing them in real life. Oh Kath I can see you doing another five birthdays, your enthusiasm for craft is inspiring, keep up the great work.

  3. How I wish I had a Paperterie in my neck of the woods Kath. I would be there in a shot. What exciting news and I'm glad to have made you giggle! Keep up the inspiration and the fun in your posts;the best thing is you never seem to take yourself too seriously and that is quite a rarity in the crafting world and to me a very special balance. Happy Sunday, xx

  9. Hi Kath, great news for all us crafters, lots of folk think Scotland stops at Edinburgh then shots on up to Inverness. So nice of Charlotte to arrange the celebrity visitors, they all deserve the award at Papeterie. I think we'll need to rake out the tent and camp all night in the car park to make sure we get inside to see their demos...Trish

  12. Exciting times!! Brilliant of these people to come all the way up to Aberdeen. Sometimes feel that we miss out as we are so far North. Charlotte has really pulled out all the stops and put the Papeterie well and truly on the crafty map!! Here's hoping we will all get in!!
