Exciting news from Paperartsy....

Hi Folks...if you're a PaperArtsy fan you'll know it's been an exciting week so far on the PaperArtsy Blog with the launch of fabulous new stamp sets from wonderful artists and tonight it's the turn of the lovely and amazingly talented Lin Brown.  Oh boy was I super duper excited when Lin invited me (yes little old me) to be one of her wingmen along with Ruth Mescall to make some samples with her new stamps and stencils.

Here is Leandra's video introduction of Lin's new release along with some samples...

I have always loved stamp sets that don't feature one large image per se but have lots of smaller collage style images making them ideal for creating interest and texture on backgrounds both for cardmaking and mixed media projects so you can imagine how excited I was to receive Lin's fabulous new stamp sets...stencils along a wonderful colour palette of PaperArtsy Chalk Paints to work with...

I fell in love with this skeleton leaf the minute I saw it...it has so many possibilities...you could use it to create the petals of a large statement flower and the detail is amazing...
I used a wet baby wipe to apply Lake Wanaka to the background and pounced on a little Tango and South Pacific. Once dry I applied Antarctica through the stencil and used South Pacific to stamp the dots image and Tango to stamp the background sections for the leaves.  I stamped the skeleton leaf with Versafine Onyx Black on to card coloured with South Pacific and Tango...heat embossed with Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder and cut out. I stamped some of the words with black ink directly on to the card and highlighted with a white journalling pen and some on to tissue paper inked with Versamark and heat embossed with White Detail Embossing powder and used PaperArtsy Satin Glaze to fix them in place.

I love the shabby vintage look of the images on Stamp Set ELB 32 and had lots of messy fun stamping the images with the Fresco Finish Lake Wanaka, Tango and Granny Smith Chalk Paints...loading my finger with paint and gently tapping it on to the stamps before stencilling the word "Love" with Granny Smith and stamping the gorgeous leaves with Versafine Onyx Black...

I created a 3-panel canvas hanging with Stamp Set ELB 33. I applied Fresco Finish Toffee to the canvas panels using a wet baby wipe which lightened the colour...stamped images using Toffee and Granny Smith...applied Fresco Finish Snowflake through the stencil and stamped the grass image with Versafine Onyx Black.

I fixed masking paper cut into strips to the card and brushed on a coat of Fresco Finish Lake Wanaka. Once it was dry I inked the circle image with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. Ideally you should remove masking paper before the paint is dry but Fresco Chak Paint dries so quickly but I gave it a little waft with a heat gun and bingo it peeled off easily.
I then applied Fresco Finish Antarctica through the stencil...stamped the mesh and small circle images with Versafine Onyx Black and Tango. I love those big splotchy circles and whether you want to use all three or just one...it's easy using the tap your finger into paint and apply just where you want it method...in this case I used Granny Smith and Tango for a two-tone look. I stamped the sentiments on to black card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I made with Lin's gorgeous stamps and stencils and that you will hop over to the PaperArtsy Blog where you'll find lots more inspiration and a list of worldwide stockists.
