and the theme for this week is...
SHIMMER AND SHINE
I made a card with lots of shimmer and shine but quickly discovered it's not easy to pick up the shine with the camera and avoid the glare at the same time...
I began with a 7"x 5" panel of Distress Watercolor card and created a muted "going for a silvery grey look/ leaving lots of white" background with Black Soot Distress Oxide.
I then tapped the Versamark ink pad through the gorgeous Plaid Layering Stencil on to vellum and heat embossed with Fine Detail Silver Embossing Powder...I die cut a frame from silver Idea-ology Metallcic Kraft Stock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stitched Rectangles...
distressed the frame with Black Soot Distress Paint and fixed to the vellum and a scrap of white cardstock...
I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Garden Greens and Wildflowers Thinlits to die cut foliage from silver Metallic Kraft Stock and paper from Idea-ology Tidings Paper Stash...
I tapped the Versamark ink pad on to the reverse of the silver Kraft Stock Wildflowers and heat embossed with a magic Wendy Vecchi Rust Effect recipe ...note to self: I should have taken a note of the recipe so that I can mix it up again when the pot is finished...
repeated with Idea-ology gears and dabbed with Evergreen Bough Distress Paint...another note to self: don't try and pick them up until you are sure they have cooled down...OUCH !!!
I then stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Motivation 3 on to silver Metallic Kraft Stock and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder...
and if you struggle with your Stamp Platform magnets clashing together with the risk of them breaking...I'm sharing a little tip. If you use the magnets with the words "Tonic Studios" facing upwards...they will repel each other...it's quite funny watching them desperately moving away from each other and to make sure they are always facing upwards...I used cute paw prints rub-ons to remind me...
then I assembled the foliage over the vellum/shiny metal panel...
cut the sentiment into sections and added Life Quotes Remnant Rubs...
I painted a little bit of Evergreen Bough on to the white foliage, added a dot of Glossy Accents and a double Crinkle Ribbon bow coloured with Evergreen Bough Distress Spray Stain...
and finished off with Idea-ology Label Letters to complete the sentiment...
and fixed the panel to a card blank covered with Turquoise coloured Classic Kraft Stock
