One Of Those Weeks...

Hi folks...it's Friday and I'm glad to be saying goodbye to this week, it's been one of those weeks, one I don't want to repeat in a hurry. I've been out of the game, completely knocked for six by a nasty tummy virus thing, snoozing the days away, surviving on sips of water and you know it's serious when the smell of coffee holds no appeal and this week's happy mail has been sitting unopened since Tuesday.
But today is a new day and it looks like I've lived to tell the tale and oh boy did I enjoy my first coffee for 4 days this morning. It's time to get back in the crafting swing and share a playtime "Queen Of The Fairies" project I made a while ago using an Idea-ology Collage Frame, Worn Wallpaper and my new addiction, the gorgeous Aviary Collage Paper...
I started off by covering the Collage Frame with Ranger Opaque Crackle Texture Paste
covered with a coat of Iced Spruce Distress Paint and wiped back slightly to highlight the crackle.
I added Idea-ology French Design Tape and the Aviary Collage Paper, gave the frame a coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte and scribbled on Iced Spruce and Vintage Photo Distress Crayons, rubbing it into the crackle with my fingers. I added Black Soot Distress Paint splatters and used Picket Fence Distress Paint to highlight the edges.
To create the wings for the fairy queen, I fixed cheesecloth to white card with Distress Collage Medium Matte and die cut the layered dragonfly from the cheescloth and Idea-ology Burlap Textured Surfaces.
cut off the wings, applied Distress Collage Medium Matte and sprinkled lightly with Vintage Platinum Distress Glitter Dust.
fixed to the Idea-ology Paper Doll, coloured lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Crayon and used a Sakura Quickie Glue pen to add glitter highlights to her dress.
I fixed a panel cut from Idea-ology Worn Wallpaper behind the frame using 3D foam and tucked the paper doll into the frame.
I stamped the crown from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Visual Artistry - Purely Random on to Metallic Kraftstock using Black Soot Archival and cut out.
I added foliage die cut from Metallic Kraftstock and white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Garden Greens Thinlits, added bits of Cheesecloth here and there and Idea-ology Clipping Stickers.
I added glitter highlights, cheesecloth and a Game Spinner to a Botanical Layers butterfly
painted Adornment Stars with Distress Collage Medium Matte, sprinkled with Vintage Platinum Distress Glitter and added Idea-ology Bouquet Findings to the foliage and Paper Doll.
Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. I'm looking forward to spending mine in the cubbyhole with the adorable resident hooligan.
and I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and surprise, surprise, featuring another Idea-ology Paper Doll and more of that very addictive Collage Paper.

Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
