Hi folks, it's been a bit of an unproductive week in the cubbyhole and it all kicked off on Monday morning. For some reason I just couldn't gee my ginger, wasn't in the mood for heading for the cubbyhole - crikey that's not like me at all and I began to wonder if I was sickening for something. It was so bad that after the morning stroll with my Furry Partner, I put my jammies back on and sat on the sofa drinking coffee and watching TV almost all day. And it was looking like Tuesday was going to be no better, I was beginning to think my creative brain had left the building so I decided to fire up my trusty Sidekick and have a die-cutting session day, stocking up for future projects and making a dent in the Classic Kraftstock scrap box. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the cutest toadstool ever from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Foliage Thinlits.
and before you know I was back in business decorating an Idea-ology Burlap Panel with some of those cuties.
I trimmed a piece of paper from the Idea-ology Halloween Paper Stash to be slightly smaller than the 6" x 4" Burlap Panel...
applied a light coat of White Gesso and used Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides with the Diamonds Mini Shifter Stencil from Set No 38 to add some detail.
I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Nature's Wonder with Ground Espresso and Forest Moss Distress Oxides
and to lighten things up a bit, the sentiment and another leaf with Versamark ink and heat set with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I machine stitched around the edges of the panel stitching over the Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to hold it in place.
Then it was time to return to my pile of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Foliage die-cuts
I added Distress Collage Medium Matte to the lower sections of the die-cut leaves so that I could curl them up slightly and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to the toadstools and flower to create more dimension. I added a few loose threads from the Mummy Cloth and splatters of White Gesso.
I trimmed a piece of green Classic Kraftstock, sanded it to reveal the kraft core, distressed the edges and cut out the middle section to save for another day. Yes, I'm a thrifty Scot and who's going to know once the decorated panel is in place. I won't tell if you don't.
Today is one of those "out and about/meeting a friend for coffee" kind of days. Have fun whatever you have planned and I'll be back tomorrow to share my second project for Neat And Tangled.
