School Days...

Hi folks, the kids in my neck of the woods will be returning to school in a few weeks and I'm sure there will be lots of Mums breathing a sigh of relief because the weather has taken a turn for the worse, with rain, rain and more rain forecast. Simon Says Stamp kindly sent me the School Days stamp set from the latest Believe In You release to play with so I made a Teacher Appreciation card, mixing and matching the School Days stamp set with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprints 8 and Crazy Things.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", added colour to the panel by smooshing Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink on to a piece of plastic, spritzed with water and pressed on to the card, drying and repeating with Tea Dye Distress Oxide ink. I inked the dashed lines image from School Days with Versafine Onyx Black, stamped repeatedly on the panel and then stamped the sentiment.
I inked the apple image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprints, the accessories from Crazy Things with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped directly on to the panel. I stamped the ruler image from School Days on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Oxide inks and fussy cut.
I re-stamped the images from Mini Blueprints 8 and Crazy Things with Black Soot and Barn Door Distress Archival inks on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card,
coloured with Distress Inks using a Distress Detailer Brush
and die-cut using the matching Tim Holtz/Sizzix Crazy Things Framelits.
I stamped the sentiment from School Days on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card and fussy cut.
I fixed the images in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive and added Glossy Acccents to the lenses of the spectacles and hearts.
I matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank covered with Tim Holtz Idea-ology Red Classic Kraft Stock
Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. It looks like it's going to be very wet and windy in this northerly corner of the UK so I'll be hunkered down in the cubbyhole, doing what I love but I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Hugs Kath xxx
