Simon Says - It's A Dog's Life

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
IT'S A DOG'S LIFE
I created a fun "tongue in cheek" card using Crazy Dogs, one of my all time favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamp sets.
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" and smooshed a custom blend ink pad on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I created the custom blend ink pad using re-inkers - Iced Spruce Distress Oxide, Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, Weathered Wood Distress Oxide and Old Paper Distress Ink.
I laid the panel on the ink, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining ink droplets. I smooshed Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat, spritzed with water and added splatters.
I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Crazy Dogs, inked with Black Soot Archival on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card
die-cut using the matching Sizzix Framelits and coloured the collars with Distress Markers - Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Evergreen Bough
I coloured the dogs with Distress Inks using the Distress Blending Brushes
I placed the dogs on the panel temporarily and stamped the sentiment using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Blockprint inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival.
I applied Distress Translucent Grit Paste randomly on the panel using the Ringer Mini Layering Stencil from set 7, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge and Peeled Paint Distress Embossing Glazes, did the finger tapping dance on the back of the card to mix the powders up and heat set once the paste had dried.
I fixed the dogs to the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I added the die-cut eyes which I shaded with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide re-inker from my Distress Ink Palette using a Distress Detailer Brush, the noses coloured with a Sakura Black Glaze Pen. I then added Ranger Glossy Accents to the noses and tongue and once dry, added a highlight to the noses and the Blockprint letters using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to a scrap of Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and die-cut the remaining sentiment using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits.

To finish I matted the panel to a slightly larger panel of Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
