Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
IT'S A MAN THING
I made a card inspired by Tim Holtz Distress Paint Facebook Live using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dapper and Faded Type, Idea-ology Urban Layers Ephemera, Junk Drawer Baseboards and Big Talk Snarky Stickers
I trimmed down a background I had created earlier using Rusty Hinge Distress Spray Stain, Ground Espresso, Brushed Corduroy and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Sprays to measure 5" x 7" and sprayed with Distress Resist Spray to seal. I applied Speckled Egg and Ground Espresso Distress Paints randomly using a mini round blending tool and removed the paint through the Flourish Mini Layering Stencil from Set 4 using damp kitchen towel. I applied Picket Fence Distress Paint to one of the script stamps from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type using a soft Speedball brayer and stamped on to the panel. I repeated using the numbers stamp with Rusty Hinge Distress Paint.
But it didn't stand out as much as I wanted, so I chanced my luck, cleaned the paint off the stamp, reinked with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide, lined up the stamp as best I could, re-stamped, sprinkled with Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set.
I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dapper with Black Soot and Ground Espresso Distress Archival on to the background and a piece of Idea-ology Urban Layers Ephemera
which I ended up setting aside for another project and instead created a collage of Idea-ology Urban Layers Ephemera and Junk Drawer Baseboards. I used the detailed egg image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bird Feather inked with Black Soot Distress Archival to add splatters to the background and to some of the collaged layers using Rusty Hinge and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks and the matching Distress Embossing Glazes.
I stamped the Dapper image on to a scrap of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock using Black Soot Distress Archival, coloured with Rusty Hinge and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks using a Distress Detailer Brush, fussy cut and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I trimmed words out from the Idea-ology Big Talk Snarky Stickers, sanded the edges to reveal the white core and fixed to the panel with Tim Holtz/Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
I added splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint
I sanded the edges of Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock to reveal the kraft core and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank. I trimmed the panel down slightly and fixed to the card using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
