Simon Says - Feminine

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month means the Design Team are showcasing products from one company or brand and this month, we are all using products from our very own Simon Says Stamp. You don't have to use Simon Says Stamp products to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make with them, if you have them in your stash.
We are also welcoming the lovely and very talented Simona Rebecchi aka Ginny and the Sheep back as our Designer In The Spotlight for May. If you haven't visited Simona's blog before, pop over and say Hi, you will be in for a real treat.
The theme for this week is...
FEMININE
I decided to christen my new Dylusions Creative Journal and create an art journal page with a soft feminine floral theme.  It was another excuse to play with more newbies, Simon Says Stamp Spring Bouquets stamp set and Magnolia Branches Embossing Folder from the Born To Sparkle release and Dandelion Wafer Thin die from the Dandelion Kisses May Card Kit and last but certainly not least, Salvaged Patina, the deliciously gorgeous new colour to join the Tim Holtz Distress Family.

The Dylusions Creative Journal is 11.8" x 9" slightly larger than the Small Creative Journal I've been used to so to leave some white space, I masked off the edges of the page with torn strips of copy paper and spritzed with Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stain and Distress Oxide Spray, dried, spritzed lightly with water to activate the oxide and dried. I inked the flower spray from Simon Says Spring Bouquets with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, sprayed lightly with water and stamped randomly on the background by holding the stamp in my hands to create imperfect impressions. I tapped Salvaged Patina and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink pads over the debossed side of the Simon Says Magnolia Branches Embossing Folder, spritzed lightly with water, added a panel of Distress Watercolor card and ran through my Big Shot using the appropriate sandwich. I tore the panel diagonally at the bottom, inked around the edge with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed to the journal page using Distress Collage Medium. I applied Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Latticework Layering Stencil and set aside to dry and that magic crackle to appear.
I distressed the edge of the Idea-ology Found Relatives photo, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and added small strips of Entomology Collage Paper.
I smooshed Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey and Frayed Burlap Distress inks on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and used to add colour to scraps of Distress Watercolor card which I die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstroke Flowers 1 Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added a twine bow, Idea-ology Mini Flair Embellishment, an Adornments Heart, painted with Ground Espresso Distress Paint and highlighted with Picket Fence Distress Crayon and Sentiments Label Stickers.
I die-cut Simon Says Dandelion from Distress Watercolor card, coloured the centres with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink using a Ranger Detailer Blending Tool, snipped off the stems and fixed in place using Distress Collage Medium.
I smooshed the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink pad on to my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and used to add splatters to the page.
