Simon Says - Bright and Cheerful

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month is when the Design Team showcase one particular brand/company and this time we are all using the fabulous products from our very own Simon Says Stamp. You don't have to use Simon Says products to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make if you have them in your stash.
We are also welcoming the lovely and very talented Cassie Lynch back as our Designer In The Spotlight, if you don't already follow her on social media, you can check out her Instagram Page HERE, you certainly won't be disappointed.
The theme for this week is...
BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL
I used Distress Oxide inks to create a bright and cheerful background on Distress Watercolor card, embossed with Simon Says Pinnacle Hearts Embossing Folder and decorated with Tim Holtz/Ideaology Palette Ephemera and the butterfly and sentiment from Simon Says Distressed Vintage Love Notes 6" x 8" stamp set.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", coloured using Distress Oxide inks and Mini Round Blending Tools, added flicks of water and dried.
I inked the music stamp from Simon Says Distressed Vintage Love Notes stamp set with the same colours and stamped to create a subtle tone on tone effect.
I ran the panel through my die-cutting machine with Simon Says Pinnacle Hearts Embossing Folder and sanded the detail to expose the white core of the card using a Mini Round Blending tool and Tim Holtz Distress Sanding Disk.
I inked the edges of tim Holtz/Idea-ology Palette Ephemera with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending Tool and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I inked the butterfly image from the stamp set with Scorched Timber Distress Ink, stamped on to Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Plain Collage paper, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing ink and heat set. Plain Collage paper is a discontinued product and if you don't have it in your stash, Dina Wakley Media Collage Tissue would work too (linked below)
I painted around the butterfly images with a wet paintbrush, teased out with my finger and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and a Collage Brush.
I stamped the postmark images from the stamp set inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tiles Circle Thinlits. I sanded the edges of the ephemera panels and around the edge of the circle, fixed a white hemp twine bow and fixed to the panel using Simon Says Black Small 3D foam squares.
To finish I fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.
