Hi my friends, welcome to my stop on Day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop for the Friend Like You release. I'm thrilled to be joining lots of talented friends and designers to share inspiration using products from this fabulous release and you can check out all the products in the release HERE.
Simon Says Stamp has a blog hop exclusive give-away, the Exclusive and "Not Yet Released " You 2 - 3" x 4" stamp set will be automatically added to your cart that contains any of the Friend Like You release products! This gift with purchase will expire 6/29 at 11:59 pm EDT or while supplies last.Simon Says are also giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop so make sure you leave a comment on each participant's blog to be in with a chance of winning. The winners will be chosen and posted on Simon Says Stamp Blog on Wednesday July 2, and if you are a lucky winner, you can e-mail Simon Says Stamp to claim your prize.I created 2 cards using EZ Strips Everyday 4" x 6" stamp set to add interest on Distress Oxide ink backgrounds, Nuvelli Script Thank You dies, the firework image from Firework Friends 6" x 8" stamp set and sentiments from the With Thanks and EZ Strips Everyday stamp sets.
On the first background, I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", stamped the EZ Strips Everyday 4" x 6" stamp set, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set.
I smooshed Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks on to my craft mat, spritzed with water, dragged the panel through the inks and dried. I tapped the panel back into the ink to pick up the remaining droplets until I was happy with the coverage.I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to the back of Distress Watercolor card and die-cut Simon Says Nuvelli Script Thank You dies many times. I fixed the first 3 sets of die-cuts on the panel and added extras around the edges, trimming off any excess. To create the second background, I used the same 3 colours of Distress Oxide inks smooshed on to my craft mat, spritzed with water, dragged the panel through the inks, dried and tapped back in to the inks to pick up the remaining droplets. I inked the EZ Strips Everyday stamped set with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink and stamped on the background. I inked one of the firework images from Simon Says Firework Friends 6" x 8" stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and stamped around the edges.I die-cut the Nuvelli Script Thank You 3 times from Distress Watercolor card, backed with Sizzix Adhesive Sheets and fixed to the panel.I stamped the sentiments from the EZ Strips Everyday and With Thanks 4" x 6" stamp sets on to scraps of Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder, heat set, trimmed and fixed in place with Simon Says 3D Foam Strips. To finish I added splatters of Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray, matted the panels on to A2 panels of Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to A2 white card blanks. If you've arrived from the very talented Lorraine Aquilina, you are in the right place but if you happen to get lost along the way, the list of participants below will help you get back on track.
