Hello my friends, if you have been watching the Live over on Tim Holtz YouTube channel, you'll know that the second round of Tim Holtz/ Ranger Distress Mini Oxide ink pads have just been released, another 6 packs of 4 colours each.
I created shaker cards using the colours from 3 of the packs with Mini Round Blending Tools and stamped images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes to create the backgrounds along with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Festive Words Thinlits and Dimensional Domes.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels. I created the 3 backgrounds in the same way. On the first panel I tapped a Mini Round Blending Tool into each of the 4 colours, Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Faded Jeans and stamped repeatedly to create a dotted pattern.
I then chose the darkest colour from each pack, in this case Faded Jeans, inked the snowflake image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Retro Flakes and stamped repeatedly on the background.
I die-cut the shaker aperture using a circle die and the frame using the same circle die and one slightly smaller from Distress Watercolor card, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added a piece of acetate behind the aperture. I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Festive Words Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card 4 times, trimmed to separate the words, layered and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I used a small paintbrush to apply Distress Collage Medium to the words and frame and sprinkled with Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Rock Candy Chunky Glitter.
I wound Blue Bakers Twine around the top of the panel and tied in a bow. I fixed 3D foam strips around the aperture, added Distress Rock Candy Chunky Glitter and matted on to an A2 white card blank. I die-cut the "Let It" word again from Distress Watercolor card, coloured using all the colours from the pack and fixed over the original. I applied Distress Collage Medium and sprinkled with the Chunky Glitter.
The second card was created in the same way using Hickory Smoke, Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Mini Oxides.
On the third card I used Twisted Citron, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles Distress Mini Oxides on the background and Rustic Wilderness to stamp the Retro Flakes and colour the Festive Words sentiment.
