Happy Birthday Blog...

A very good morning to all our lovely bloggy buds...we're in party mood in the cubbyhole...yes this little old blog is...

4 

years old today...

and we're so chuffed that you decided to pop in and help us celebrate.  Let me rephrase that...I'm your ultimate party animal and can't wait for the nibbles and the fun to begin...on the other hand the old crafty girl is looking slightly less enthusiastic...in fact she's feeling as though she flew all the way home hanging onto the wing of the plane and to be truthful by the look of her this morning...I'm inclined to agree.

23rd February 2008 was the day my old crafty Mum embraced the latest technology and started a blog and HERE was her very first post....short and sweet which you have to admit is unusual but hey once she got into her stride there was no shutting her up...how quickly time passes when you're having fun and we've had a ball....made lots of new bloggy friends sadly most of whom we will probably never meet...shared happy and sad times together and we're truly amazed by all the fabulous talent and inspiration in blogland and how kind and generous everyone is...a huge thank you to all our followers...all 1463 of you...without you we're basically just talking to ourselves...we love when you come to call and leave us lots of bloggy hugs. This is post number 1821...blimey that's a shed load of chatting and uploading photos and we've passed the 3/4 million hits mark but don't forget we're a team and she couldn't have done it without yours truly...always ready to step into the breach when Mum has a meltdown "don't have time to blog" day.
But hey let's get the party started and we can't have a party without some parcels....yummy goodies to give-away thanks to our lovely buddies ANDREA & MARY at...

all you have to do is leave us a great big birthday hug before 8pm on Wednesday 29th February and I'll be back to announce the lucky winner on 1st March.  In the meantime I'm off to look out my best bib and tucker...get the candles lit and make sure I get a big slice of the birthday cake.
Mum will be back tomorrow to share some pics from Stitches and how Mr Holtz very nearly ended up on the naughty step...now he knows how I feel living with Mrs Bossy Knickers.

Look who we bumped into...

Morning folks...I'm back from my trip to Stitches and I couldn't begin to tell you how much fun I had. Busy busy days but it's not all work...it's great to meet up with lots of crafty buddies and you just never know who you'll bump into..the amazing Tim...The Lord of All Things Holtziness ..the most inspirational and generous guy having fun with his FABULOUS Distress Markers...definitely NUMBER ONE on the cubbyhole shopping list...can't wait for mine to arrive...

Stitches...Day 2

Morning folks...we're all set for Day 2...Timmie left the building yesterday to travel down to QVC for the midnight launch of his TSV...Debbi and I did manage to order on our mobile phones after a mega kerfuffle...thank goodness Debbi knows what she's doing because technology and me are a disaster waiting to happen...hope you managed to get one too.  I'm a bit gutted that I'll be missing out on watching today's shows with Tim and Dyan but hey ho will just have to content myself with ogling all the gorgeous new products on show here...doing a bit of social networking...basically having lots of fun...

Stitches...Here We Come...

Morning folks...by the time you are reading this...well that is if Mr Blogger hasn't decided to have a grumpy day...Charlotte Rachel Debbi and yours truly will be waking up in Birmingham and getting all set for our first day at Stitches...I was beginning to think I wouldn't make it when it started to snow heavily in my neck of the woods on Saturday morning but it takes more than a little bit of snow to close Aberdeen Airport...then I was hit by a tummy bug Saturday night/Sunday morning...hopefully 24 hours on a water only diet will have done the trick...let's put it this way...I was going even if I had to shovel the runway and be stretchered on to the plane.  We're in mega excitement mode..."kids in a sweetie shop" and are raring to go.  As soon as the doors open we will be hot footing it at supersonic speed to say hello to the lovely Tim and Mario and suss out these babies...

Then I will be popping by the Fiskars Stand to check out the samples...yes the ones that had me nearly losing the plot and tearing my hair out. The brief was 6 themes (4 samples per theme) card/scrapbook page/home decor/gift box etc so here goes...

The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge #16

Morning folks...I am always jumping up and down with excitement when my DT parcel arrives from The Ribbon Girl and this month was no exception...lots of yummy products for the February Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge..the colours this month were chosen by my lovely teamie ANDREA and what a stroke of luck...one of my favourite colour combos...

I decided to give this cute little Santa box I bought in New York last year a bit of a make-over...you may have noticed that I am on a mission at the moment to transform anything that doesn't move into a piece of Altered Art...so I waved the magic wand and hey presto...a Mini Hat Box storage solution....perfect for keeping all those gorgeous button and charm goodies from The Ribbon Girl...

the challenge will run until 9pm on Saturday 3rd March and there are fabulous prizes up for grabs...

I'm hopping over to check out the gorgeous creations from my lovely teamies and our guest designer for February the lovely JANE and WOOHOO it's time to get the suitcase packed ready for my flight tonight to Birmingham...I'm so looking forward to some time off - 2 days of crafty fun at Stitches with my lovely chums Debbi...Charlotte and Rachel...popping by to say hello to Tim and Mario with some workshops thrown in...ogling all the new goodies that will be popping into crafty shops in the coming months and meeting up with lots of crafty buddies. But I'm not leaving you without your cubbyhole fix...I'll be sharing the samples I made for the Fiskars stand on Monday and Tuesday and talking of Fiskars...the cubbyhole crew have pulled out all the stops...the kits for the NEC Workshops in March are almost done...just the ribbon and bling to add...hoop-de-doo another job ticked off the crafty list.
