Walking In A Winter Wonderland...

Hi folks...it's time to share my annual Christmas treat...the trip I make every December to my local Garden Centre to feast my eyes on everything Christmas and have a catch-up lunch date with a lovely crafty friend. However...Christmas seemed to have taken a bit of a back seat this year in favour of all things Winter Wonderland...

 lots of quirky rustic Santas in alternative colours but love their Holiday Knits sweaters...

 adorable polar bears and penquins

 snowy dwellings...

 woodland scenes...

 frosty white trees...

 with rustic ornaments and beautiful coppery Tattered Poinsettias...

woodland animals...

not sure where bears feature in the Christmas story...

but finally we bumped into Santa doing his Christmas shopping...

and sharing a Christmas story...I have to admit I found this animated talking version of the big man in the red suit a little scary...

 traditional red and green table settings...

 and woohoo...a green tree with burlap and tartan decorations...

 and my favourites...

but best get my skates on because I'm about to do it all over again today with the Friday Girls...just different day...different time...different venue. Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned and I'll see you all on Monday with the last Simon Says Stamp DT project for 2016.

My "What A Numptie " December Tag...

Hi Everyone...it's hard to believe that I'm posting my last tag for...

"12 Tags of 2016"

it's been a fun and inspirational year long journey revisiting old techniques. I loved both these techniques first time round and have used them often BUT if you're a regular visitor to the cubbyhole you'll know that BUT moments happen quite frequently in our crazy crafty space.

 Sometimes you sail through a project without a hiccup and silly me for thinking this was going to be one of those. I spritzed the burlap through the stencil, embossed the shadowpress sentiment, attached the tiles, added the greenery ribbon and Remnant Rubs highlights. Time to treat myself to a "polishing my halo/feeling rather chuffed with myself" sit down and a cuppa

Rude awakener when I came to do the photo and realised I'd covered up the entire stencilled background...yes Mrs Numptie went off on a tangent and shot herself in the foot yet again. I did contemplate redoing it but hey ho...so much to do and so little time so I decided to take Tim's advice and "Embrace My Imperfections" of which there are many and waffling is top of the list so let's just cut to the chase and the big reveal...

Another lesson learned...another adventure put down to experience...I'm not beating myself up...it's a tag for heaven's sake and who's ever going to know. I'll be back soon to share my favourite Christmas treat...my annual visit to the most wonderful Christmas Wonderland right on my doorstep.

Let There Be Snow...

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's "Christmas Gifts" challenge...we hope you can join us this week because...

and no snow in my neck of the woods yet...only on the Christmas cards

and here's the last one to leave the production line...

I used paper from the gorgeous Kaisercraft Frosted Collection...tore a snow bank from white cardstock...stamped the snowflake from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Weathered Winter with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and inked around the edges with Ground Espresso.

I die cut a tree using Sizzix/Tim Holtz Woodlands Thinlits,...inked around the edges...fixed in place with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and created splatters with Picket Fence Distress Paint.

I spritzed contrasting papers with Brushed Pewter Distress Mica Spray and Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain and die cut snowflakes using Sizzix/Tim Holtz Stacked Snowflakes BigZ die.

added die cuts from the Frosted Collectables pack...sequins and Eclectic Elements thread

sprinkled with Stampendous Frantage Embossing Powder...

and stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Drawings inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.
