Here's what on my desk on this "clouds are clearing but will it stay dry" kind of a day...lots of stuff from Lord Timmie...in the process of making this week's entry for Simon Says Stamp and Show.....
but it ain't finished yet so in the meantime just a little sneaky peek.....
I was in a real get down and inky with Lord Tim mood last night and things were going swimmingly and as requested yesterday he was sending me lots of his fab inspiration.....until a disaster of gigantic proportions happened....busy running a Texture Fade through The Big Shot Express when suddenly it stopped and the sandwich wouldn't budge.....then hubby informs me that it had fused all the electrical sockets downstairs and that the motor had probably burned out. Oh pants......but my troubles had only begun....how do I get the sandwich out....according to the manual it's fairly simple....insert the screwdriver provided into the hole as shown and turn...adding that it may need quite a few turns.....well that was the bliddy understatement of the year....a couple of hours completed wasted.......much bad wordies...one broken nail and why did I waste money on a haircut the other day...by the time I was finished I could have pulled the whole lot out....but at least I got my Texture Fade back.Well these things happen from time to time you might think but surely not to a machine that is only 3 months old.....so it's no longer welcome in the cubbyhole and has been evicted from the die cutting station to be replaced by it's little brother.
all boxed up ready to be returned to whence it came....definitely not a cheap piece of kit and certainly not the quality I expect from Sizzix. There is no way I am going to accept a replacement or a repair....it's money back or nothing....and woe betide if I don't get my way.....the "declare war big time" hat will be coming out of the cupboard....so watch this space. Catch up with you all later and fingers crossed that is the last of the misfortunes at least for this week.
Hugs Kath xxx

ReplyDeleteEeeee, sounds like a dodgy machine to me hun...hope you get it sorted... I "broke" Jennie's Express the other week... managed to get it going again but that is one of the reasons I won't have a whizzy one... tooooo scared of busting it... BTW, I know I always say this but... I LOVE your blog.. Buddy is just such a gorgeous dude... oh and loving your Tim thing... can't wait to see the finished piece .. have a goodly day x

ReplyDeleteA x
Oh Smack! (Wait, I'm in the U.S. so never quite sure if I can say some things or not.) Anyhow sorry about the machinery, but really quite impressed that your main concern wasn't the blown fuses but in getting your craft project out (which by the way is really quite lovely). Good luck w/the eviction and let us know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteMmm, that little project looks interesting - think I might know what this is going to be!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the demise of your whizzy Sizzix - you never know they might send you a VAGABOND instead. Now if they could just fit Lord Holtz in the box too! Well, we can all dream.
Lots of hugs (to Buddy too!)

ReplyDeleteMorning Kath and Buddy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a disappointment, I would be very upset if that happended to me .... defo not something you would expect from a Sizzix product .... I would think you would definitely get your money back as their Customer Service is brill.
Kay
Oh dear Kath it's awful when things go wrong. On a lighter note I love all what is hapening on your desk.xxx
ReplyDeleteOh that looks just great. I've been hearing a lot of SSS so must add it to my regular blog round - one of the reasons I do so love WOYWW. Information, inspiration, and all too often a greatly increased shopping list LOL!

ReplyDeleteHey Kath...when you get your money back it will be just in time to get the new T!m Vagabond!! Result!! I am hoping that my years without a die machine will be worth the wait for this one :)

Hazel
Hey Kath, I do hope you get your machine exchanged, how awful for you! I have an ongoing battle with a shopping challenge to replace a kit that I returned three months ago, still waiting for an exchange or refund. Best of luck, crafting should be fun not hassle! hugs Heidi xx
ReplyDeleteYou go get them Kath! Hope you get it sorted. Hugs Pam x
ReplyDeleteA good bit of wonderful works on the desk this morning. So sorry your machine stressed the system & killed itself. Wonderfully funny how you wrote it up, but not so funny is the lose. I hope you don't have to get out your war bonnet, but would love to be there if you have to resort to it. LOL
ReplyDeleteGosh that's dreadful. I've loved sizzix products since I started crafting, and I was quite sad to upgrade my loyal old red sizzix for my big shot which I also love. However, I've just experienced crap customer service from them too over the foam inserts for the Tim Holtz Alterations dies. There's a design fault and you can't get the card out of the die unless you have an insert, and after buying two dies it's taken me 7 months and several phone calls to get the inserts. I hope you have a quicker response to getting your money back!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of your project! Looks gorgeous as far as I can tell ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek!
Hope things get sorted out! Love all of your stuff on your desk. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteAh...things with motors! Love those letters I see on your desk, lots of lovely stuff there.
ReplyDeleteOoo Kath, sorry to hear that your big shot has gone to the die cutting machine graveyard in the sky. On a lighter note, your Tim creations is looking mighty fine, can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteLin
Your impromptu review of this product has convinced me I don't want one. My Sizzix (the original red machine) has now cracked on both sides, and I was considering replacing it. Thanks for letting me know I don't need it. Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeletehi Kath, love your sneak peak, i am glad i did not buy the big shot and got the cuttlebug. sorry to hear about your stressful moment. Thank you for visiting my blog on WOYWW, Happy WOYWW
ReplyDeletehiya Kathy and Buddy, thank you for the peek, your desk is so tidy and all that timmy stash looks delish love the letters
ReplyDeletehugs from Daniele
Can't wait to see the results of your play with the TH products.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame you for wanting your mondy back. Something like this tends to put you off a product doesn't it? At least you got your texture plate back lol!
I'm going to have to be busy tomorrow cos I haven't done anything so far this week. Catriona and the kiddies have set off for home now so I think I'll try to catch up with my DT commenting and visiting my fav blogs and get crafting tomorrow lol!
Kat xx
Kath...sorry tor ead of your troubles...but honestly my old sizzix big shot is the most used piece of equipment in my crafty space and I could not live without it...Good luck!
ReplyDeleteEvening Kath,
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear about your kit going kapoot... :-( I hope you get your refund sorted and then buy something shiny and new.. :-)

Gorgeous what's on your table! Sorry about the trouble with the Sizzix, darn!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and yes, sorry I did chuckle!! Hope you get it sorted OK
ReplyDeleteOh no Kath, how infuriating. I must admit that was one concern I had (not so much it blowing the electrics but how to work it if something went wrong with the electics) which is why I decided to go for the manual one - so glad I did. As you say not cheap for that to happen in such a short time. You did make me laugh though about the "declare war big time" hat coming out LOL
ReplyDeleteLove what you've been working on :-)
Anne xx
Oh ouch on the sizzix. I had regretted not buying the electric one but now will be content with my pink manual one. I'm glad you got your fade back unharmed! Look forward to seeing your TH project! And I am in lov with your beautiful Buddy!
ReplyDeleteHAahahah

I'm a bit late getting started on my trip around the desks this week. Glad you retrieved you stuff from the errant machine, I don't think that the company will stand a chance of not returning your money once you get started!
