What's on my Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...it's Wednesday already and time for a rummage through the crafty spaces of lots of lovely crafters who each week share what's on their desks...it's great fun and if you don't know what I am on about or have never joined in...get yourselves over to WOYWW but and it's a BIG BUT....let me warn you it is very very addictive.
Here's what on my desk on this "clouds are clearing but will it stay dry" kind of a day...lots of stuff from Lord Timmie...in the process of making this week's entry for Simon Says Stamp and Show.....
but it ain't finished yet so in the meantime just a little sneaky peek.....
I was in a real get down and inky with Lord Tim mood last night and things were going swimmingly and as requested yesterday he was sending me lots of his fab inspiration.....until a disaster of gigantic proportions happened....busy running a Texture Fade through The Big Shot Express when suddenly it stopped and the sandwich wouldn't budge.....then hubby informs me that it had fused all the electrical sockets downstairs and that the motor had probably burned out.     Oh pants......but my troubles had only begun....how do I get the sandwich out....according to the manual it's fairly simple....insert the screwdriver provided into the hole as shown and turn...adding that it may need quite a few turns.....well that was the bliddy understatement of the year....a couple of hours completed wasted.......much bad wordies...one broken nail and why did I waste money on a haircut the other day...by the time I was finished I could have pulled the whole lot out....but at least I got my Texture Fade back.
Well these things happen from time to time you might think but surely not to a machine that is only 3 months old.....so it's no longer welcome in the cubbyhole and has been evicted from the die cutting station to be replaced by it's little brother.
all boxed up ready to be returned to whence it came....definitely not a cheap piece of kit and certainly not the quality I expect from Sizzix.  There is no way I am going to accept a replacement or a repair....it's money back or nothing....and woe betide if I don't get my way.....the "declare war big time" hat will be coming out of the cupboard....so watch this space.   Catch up with you all later and fingers crossed that is the last of the misfortunes at least for this week.
Hugs Kath xxx

  11. Oh Smack! (Wait, I'm in the U.S. so never quite sure if I can say some things or not.) Anyhow sorry about the machinery, but really quite impressed that your main concern wasn't the blown fuses but in getting your craft project out (which by the way is really quite lovely). Good luck w/the eviction and let us know how it goes.

Sorry to hear about the demise of your whizzy Sizzix - you never know they might send you a VAGABOND instead. Now if they could just fit Lord Holtz in the box too! Well, we can all dream.

What a disappointment, I would be very upset if that happended to me .... defo not something you would expect from a Sizzix product .... I would think you would definitely get your money back as their Customer Service is brill.

  27. Hey Kath, I do hope you get your machine exchanged, how awful for you! I have an ongoing battle with a shopping challenge to replace a kit that I returned three months ago, still waiting for an exchange or refund. Best of luck, crafting should be fun not hassle! hugs Heidi xx

  29. A good bit of wonderful works on the desk this morning. So sorry your machine stressed the system & killed itself. Wonderfully funny how you wrote it up, but not so funny is the lose. I hope you don't have to get out your war bonnet, but would love to be there if you have to resort to it. LOL

  30. Gosh that's dreadful. I've loved sizzix products since I started crafting, and I was quite sad to upgrade my loyal old red sizzix for my big shot which I also love. However, I've just experienced crap customer service from them too over the foam inserts for the Tim Holtz Alterations dies. There's a design fault and you can't get the card out of the die unless you have an insert, and after buying two dies it's taken me 7 months and several phone calls to get the inserts. I hope you have a quicker response to getting your money back!

  35. Your impromptu review of this product has convinced me I don't want one. My Sizzix (the original red machine) has now cracked on both sides, and I was considering replacing it. Thanks for letting me know I don't need it. Happy WOYWW.

  38. Can't wait to see the results of your play with the TH products.

Don't blame you for wanting your mondy back. Something like this tends to put you off a product doesn't it? At least you got your texture plate back lol!

I'm going to have to be busy tomorrow cos I haven't done anything so far this week. Catriona and the kiddies have set off for home now so I think I'll try to catch up with my DT commenting and visiting my fav blogs and get crafting tomorrow lol!

  43. Oh no Kath, how infuriating. I must admit that was one concern I had (not so much it blowing the electrics but how to work it if something went wrong with the electics) which is why I decided to go for the manual one - so glad I did. As you say not cheap for that to happen in such a short time. You did make me laugh though about the "declare war big time" hat coming out LOL
Love what you've been working on :-)
    Anne xx
