Morning folks.....there has been no let up in the wintry conditions in this frozen wilderness we call the North East of Scotland....more snow has fallen and crikey this has been the worst snow fall I can remember for a very long time. The car is well and truly snowed in and I have no intentions of digging it out anytime soon.....I hate all that slipping and sliding around....a real scary experience so will be relying on shanks' pony for the foreseeable future. And aren't I lucky that work is just a short indoor walk away.
Spent the morning yesterday clearing a path out to what used to be the old cubbyhole and is now where I take my photos because it gets great natural light....
Thought I would share with you a fun pic of my outdoor photographic studio which is well and truly closed for the winter and using hubby's tape measure rule thingy which will probably go all rusty now but I won't tell if you don't.....the snowfall measures 23" and I couldn't hold the tape measure and take a pic at the same time....so you will have to take my word for it....
Icicles on the gone to sleep for the winter Clematis
my icicles are pathetic compared to those at my lovely crafty friend Anne's house.......click
HERE to visit the Winter Wonderland Icicle Cottage and give her a big cosy snuggly hug
I love that first fall of snow that turns the world into a magical Winter Wonderland but hey I think you will agree we are all a bit fed up of it now so it's time to have a little fun.....same as last year....post pics of your snowfall on your blog and leave us a comment here with a link so we can come visit.....show us your snowy wonderland before
Saturday 11th at midnight and The Furry Boy will be snaffling some goodies from the cubbyhole for the
GIRL WITH THE MOSTEST (or fella for that matter) and don't worry if you don't measure up...he will have a goodie parcel for his favourite snowy scene too.
I suspect that gremlins have invaded the cubbyhole.....crikey it is all going pear shaped here....will tell you all about it tomorrow.....off to lie down in a darkened room.
Big Cosy Hugs from Kath & Buddy xxx
Edited to add: Lily: you can e-mail your snowy pics to us
Love the photos Kath, keep safe and warmx
ReplyDeleteWoW thats some snow!!!TFS
ReplyDeleteWe got asprinkle.....
Have a safe and warm day :) xxx
Crikey Kath so much snow - we have absolutely none here in Stonehouse Glos, although unbelievably Kings Stanley which is literally 1 mile down the road had a massive blizzard for 1 hour on Friday evening - that's crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe & warm and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Debs xx
Hi Kath and Buddy too, thankfully our snow seems to be abeiting now although when everyone got together to clear the road the piles of the white stuff that are mow in gardens and on footpath sides with take forever to melt some are 6 ft tall plus. I took these pics before it started to melt, and these when it stopped snowing long enough not to cover the food(thought Buddy would like these). Hope it doesn't cause you guys too many problems we are so rubbish when it comes to coping with snow, but when it's gone it always makes me feel abit like when you take the christmas decorations down, everything looks bare and empty. Ah well back to the grindstone, get up to get breaky ready, have a fun day and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteWow Kath I thought we had loads down near Gatwick but yours has well and truly pipped the post!!
ReplyDeleteours is starting to thaw now but have to agree with you it does look magical at first x
stay safe
hugs

Brilliant pics; thanks so much for sharing, I think I am of a very small minority that actually loves snow....sorry to all you sufferers...I can't help it.xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics, Kath. I thought we had a lot but I don't think we can top 23", lol. Will measure it later and let you know xx
ReplyDeleteSee you've got a wee bit of snow as well Kath LOL! We had some great icicles but hubby got rid of them cos he thought they were a bit heavy hanging off the guttering. Think I should have measured our snow sooner as it's gone down a bit now. Horribly icy now and even the pups are walking carefully. Not looking forward to going to work on ice. Hubby's been taking me as he was on holiday last week but it's down to me now. Who'd live in the country?!
ReplyDeleteKat xx
Those icicles are amazing! You have soo much snow, even more than me! We were at 18 inches at its deepest. I have a few pics so i will post them up on my blog later.
ReplyDeleteAs for the slipping and sliding, well i managed to fall over twice on Wednesday! Once while i was taking the pictures mentioned above and once getting into the car, which had my family laughing but left me with a bruised leg when i hit it off the car
I loved seeing your winter wonderland Kath, so pretty but you are right in saying Crikey, what a heck of a lot of snow, my family lives in Scotland I must get in contact with them and see how they are, we are currently on flood alert and it is Summer, strange weather, sending you warm hugs!
ReplyDeleteWow Kath I am amazed at your pics so much snow!!! we have a piddly little bit that has to melt, but everything else has gone, you wouldnt have thought it snowed at all here! xxx
ReplyDeleteI am back with pictures of my snow! Sorry for the two comments, i would have edited my original comment but i am unable to. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of my snow, which can be found here
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a lot you got!
ReplyDeleteGood pics Kath.

Hi Kath fab pictures. My daughter is in Dundee she said they had lots of snow. We only have a sprinkling which is melting, but just sheets of black ice everywhere.Glad I only have to walk down the street to work. Take care, Keep warm Hugs x ChrisB
ReplyDeleteLooks a lot like my house, Kath. We received a good foot of the white stuff the other night, on top of what we already had. . . .HATE driving in it! I'll take some photos later today or tomorrow to share. . .what a fun contest! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures - all that snow looks wonderful to me, but I'm not the one who has to deal with all the slipping and sliding and digging.......we are getting some flurries here in NE Ohio, and the ground is covered, but not nearly as much as you have, and not even worth a photo yet. Sending warm hugs!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely photos, I ecspecially love the ones of your icicles!Heres some piccies of our snowfall Here xxx

ReplyDeleteHi Kath
ReplyDeleteWell in comparison to your snowfall I am happy to report that ours here looks absolutely pathetic!!! We do however have some stunning frozen fog and mist which creates a mystical wonderland lol. I know you already commented on my Dads caravan/igloo the other day but I have posted some frosty photos!

ReplyDeleteNot sure if I've done this right but hope it takes you to the icy pictures.
We've had hardly any snow here in Crewe.. nothing compared to the deluge you've experienced but I thought I'd share some photos with you , even if they're not exactly in my back yard :)
tc Sue x
BoD has had it's fair share of snow but we are snowed under with folks wanting their heating and hot water repaired. Now the thaw has started no-one seems to be in!
ReplyDeleteWell we have no snow here down in South Africa, but was very worried on Friday that I might have been able to send a"white" photo. It started hailing, but thankfully, not enough to whiten the ground, so HAPPILY no photo from me, only lovely sunshine here, so sending lots of warm sunny wishes..
ReplyDeleteLove all that snow, once the sun has come out again! Looks so pretty! Here's my snowy scene! Getting totally dumped on today! http://bdengler4.blogspot.com/2010/12/blizzard.html
