Boring The Pants Off You

Morning folks....it's cuppa and bum on a comfy sofa time....I am in "bore the pants off you" mode.  Do you remember the song "Forty Shades of Green" by the Alexander Bros...probably NOT unless you are an old wrinkly like me and NO..I don't have it in my record collection nor am I here to tell you that the colour green is going to be the next big trend in cardmaking or if it is....you heard it here first.   Have I finally lost the plot....are they waiting to cart me off in a straitjacket....NO...I am just in philosphical mood because it's a bit of a celebratory morning.....I've just had my first morning outdoor cuppa of the year ...the best time of the day when most folks are still asleep...the birds are dashing hither and thither in their daily search for food....oh yes us humans have it dead easy...a quick trip to Tesco and we're sorted...so my first job of the day is to top up the bird feeders.   Some folks say that we shouldn't feed the birds in the Spring and Summer months but they need all the help they can get when they are nesting and rearing young and up to now I haven't heard any complaints from my lot....check out this little cutie waiting for the breakfast gong....oops that trellis looks like it could be doing with a bit of a spruce up.....another job added to the never ending list of things to do....
 and the feeding frenzy begins....
But where does the green come into the scheme of things I hear you ask.....you know me...not a come to the point girl when I can waffle on about this that and the other. I am always amazed at the kaleidoscope of colours that Nature has in her palette and even before the flowers start to bloom.....there is green everywhere in every imaginable shade...I love this time of year when everything is bursting into life.....the daffs are beginning to look a bit past their best and soon will be all shrivelled up and brown but something else is guaranteed to pop up and colour our world....

Do I really have time to sit and ponder the wonders of Nature.....probably not but this is my favourite time of the day.....just ME...the Furry Boy and my feathered friends enjoying the silly o'clock peace and quiet before the cubbyhole beckons and if I can sneak in another cuppa.....well that's my idea of heaven.
But back to the crafty stuff....another card from that gorgeous Tres Chic Project Kit from Craftwork Cards....
Craftwork Cards would love to see what you make with their fabulous products....so get those crafty fingers working...e-mail your creations to julie@craftworkcards.com and Sue and Julie will showcase your creations on the Craftwork Cards Blog....and finally before you all nod off....a little sneaky peek....
Now that I am sufficiently topped up with coffee....it's time to take our morning stroll.....another of my favourites pastimes....me planning the day ahead and the Furry Boy.....well he's happy just sniffing and rooting around in the woods.   Catch up with you all tomorrow over at Penny Black Saturday for another fab challenge and a yummy Penny Black prize.
Hugs Kath xxx

  2. Morning Kath & Buddy, love the pic of the bird sitting on your trellis, eyeing up the nut feeder, no sitting out this morning for me either, dull and dreary here. Enjoy the rest of your day.

  7. Morning Kath . . . hope you and Buddy had a nice stroll in the lush green countryside!

I also love quiet mornings in the garden with my 2 chickens running around making happy little "bok bok" noises.

The blackbirds, dunnocks & doves form an orderly queue along my fence for the sultanas first thing! I feed 'em all year round and didn't realise some people say you shouldn't.

    Hugs, Sandra

  13. great photos Kath, isn't God marvellous providing all these beautiful plants just so we have something nice to smell and gorgeous look at! We've got a family of bluetits in a tiny bird house hanging from our cherry tree in the back garden - I'm sure they must be seasick 'cos the wind blows it backwards and forwards! I tried to leave a comment very early this morning but Blogger wasn't having it - thought I was trying to 'edit' so closed down and left the internet. Have a lovely weekend, Mary G x

  14. I do love green - love the look of the little snapshot with the green & yellow. The birds are busy - a huge crow was busy tugging huge clumps of our lawn out & gathering as much as he could in his beak before flying off - I've never seen the like!

  15. Love your garden photos and your card and sneak peek Kath. I remember that song too! One of the Alexander Brothers, think it was Tom the one with the accordian, used to live near my eldest brother. Jim always talked about "Hooch" as he tended to say that now and again during the songs lol!

  16. You never bore the pants off me.

But isn't it funny (a rabbits a bunny, go on finish it off)

A challenge a few weeks ago was use green and the song 40 shades of green came into my head and I couldn't remember who sung it and while I sang it at the time, I now can't remember the words. Age eh!
    God help us!
