waves breaking over the South Sea Wall at Aberdeen Harbour yesterday...
whipping the sea into an angry cauldron of sea foam which engulfed the houses around the harbour at Footdee or in Aberdeen speak...Fittie
I've never seen anything like this before in my lifetime...
But on a cheerier note...it's Wednesday and that means I'm heading over to Julia's place aka WOYWW where lots of lovely crafty folks allow us to snoop around their crafty spaces...so what's on my workdesk today...
the debris left over from Saturday's workshop project which is sorted and kitted up...I just need to get busy with the demo stuff now but first I have to get kitted out in the stormy weather gear for our morning stroll...I will be keeping a tight hold of my furry partner...surely his 42 kilo coffee table style body will prevent me from becoming airborne and flying off into the wild blue yonder Mary Poppins style. Stay cosy and safe everyone...I'll see you all tomorrow to share some demo sneaky peeks

We had this foam last year Kath it was everywhere! The weather here in the northwest isn't much better, we had someone coming for tea last night but after trying 4 different routes they had to give up as everywhere was flooded mmmm wonder if that means another hose pipe ban is round the corner???? Your worktop looks busy and I know what you will be doing today!! x

Winter is definitely around the corner, I sorted my winter clothes yesterday.
You made me chuckle about Buddy's wake up antics .. I had the same treatment this morning from Shona .. Pity it's one of my days off but I think she's returning the favour as I give her a snuggle before I go to work (very early lol!)
Sounds like you have a very effective alarm clock! Those photos are unbelievable. You take care - 42 kilos is a little less than my weight & doesn't help much as ballast!

ReplyDeleteThose pictures are amazing and my heart goes out to anyone who has had to suffer due to the recent weather. It was thunder & lightning and torrential rain here at 5am. Couldn't believe it when hubby awoke only after the fourth flash of lightning and rumble of thunder, and within minutes he was making as much noise as the thunder as he promptly fell back asleep. Now this morning the sun is trying to shine!

ReplyDeleteFabulously inspiring desk this week - I never knew you could get Card Candi to match Adirondack's Lettuce pigment ink... LOL.... will have to keep and eye out for that!
The hounds here wave a big hello to Buddy, Twig in particular, though Hamish is not especially backward in coming forward now. He does a good line in smacking you round the back of the leg with his paw for attention - not funny when he weighs 55kg and stands nearly 3ft tall at the hips...
OMG Kath...those photos are incredible! Although it must be so scary living there, it is really spectacular...that 1st photo is amazing - it looks more like a painting than a photo.

ReplyDeleteSaw some pics like these in the papers today Kath. As you say unbelievable. Can't help thinking that bad as this looks for Aberdeen some areas have had it even worse. I think it's been really bad in the Borders. Must have been a nightmare for the people at Fittie though. Makes me glad to not be as near the sea as that.

Being firmly rooted in the center of the United States, I have never seen anything like those photos either. As the title of the post was WOYWW, I thought I was looking at either a frilly flower on your desk, or some wadded up netting left over from one of your sewing projects. Mother Nature can do some awesome things! Poor Buddy, first his Summer of being so sick, and now his Mum is comparing him to a coffee table!! Poor Boy!! Linda S. in NE

I always thought having a seaside veiw would be lovely... these photos are giving me second thoughts. I have seen wild weather at the coast but nothing as bad as this when compared to these photos.
ReplyDeleteWe had high winds too Monday and Tuesday. I just missed having bones crushed in a door thrown shut with the wind at work but got away with skint knuckles instead, I pulled my hand back just in time.
