Back To The Day Job...

Hi folks...I'm back in the cubbyhole after a fun weekend with the lovely crafty folks at the Retreat and my flying visit (I was a little bit tempted to snuggle down for a duvet day) on Sunday to the Dancing On Ice Final Tour and oh boy I'm so glad I dragged myself out of bed at silly o'clock and braved the dismal persisting with rain weather in Glasgow...if you get the chance to go...you will not regret it....fabulous fabulous show...lots of fun and it was very emotional watching Jayne and Chris performing The Bolero at the end of the show...real hair standing up on the back of your neck stuff...it's been a dream of mine to see them perform it live ever since I watched it all those years ago on the telly. Then it was time for another rain soaked trip back to the train station and a fun karaoke "passed in a flash" trip home in the company of lots of AFC football supporters who I have to say were very well behaved albeit a bit exuberant with their singing and surprisingly cheery considering their team lost. I was very tempted to take a pic of  my "across the way" travelling companions who did a great job with their snoring accompaniment to each and every song and in tune too but hey I would be gutted if someone shared pics of me giving it laldy with my mouth wide open...so on this occasion I resisted.
But it's back to the day job with a 5 card magazine commission...newsletter projects and new product samples for Fiskars nipping at my heels...that old deadline looming "where is Mr Mojo when you need him" feeling and just when I'd psyched myself up for a "get on with it" kind of a day...donned my Fiskars Hat...fired up Mr Fuse and mustered the troops...a rat-a-tat-tat on the door somewhat scuppered my good intentions plan. A happy happy mail arrival from my bestest bestest bud Enfys...my lovely personal shopper is home from her shopping holiday/adventure in the US and look what she got me...ooohh...aaahh...gorgeous burlap heaven...she knows me so well...
Can I manage to sneak in a little bit of playtime...oh yes...a cunning plan is a-brewing....burlap is very on trend at the moment and may well feature in said magazine commission. Where there's a will...there's always a way and you don't get to my age without realising there's more than one way to skin a cat.
But before the crafting can commence...there's the small matter of tidying away the debris from the weekend...this one is going to be easy-peasy lemon squeezy...
but this one will be more of a challenge...first let me make it known that this is NOT how Mrs Neat & Tidy usually packs up the workshop bits and pieces...
but I dropped the 3 trays as I lifted them out of the car and deposited their contents all over the driveway so now I have a real "grit my teeth-pull up my big girl knickers" sort everything out job on my hands. But it's not all doom and gloom...I'm off out tonight with little Sis...a trip down memory lane at "Let It Be" The Beatles musical...have a feeling it's going to be another fun sing-a-long evening.
Toodle-oo for now
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
