Hi folks...it doesn't happen very often but yesterday I was rendered absolutely speechless when I just happened to mention my plans for the cubbyhole to hubby...crikey before I had time to finish the sentence I could hear Demolition Man's cogs whirring...obviously it would be ideal if the room could be emptied but there's absolutely no chance of that happening so it's going to have to be done a bit at a time but hey ho...crafty clutterers can't be choosers so I cleared the first lot of shelves and before I could blink Demolition Man and his trusty screwdriver had them gone...
I'm taking myself out of the equation today...off to pick up the new units leaving the Decorator Extraordinaire to work his magic on the roof and the Redcurrant wall has to go...I suspect it's going to be a devil to cover up...gesso might work but I'm not sure it's available in gallon size tubs...
No turning back now...the cubbyhole make-over is underway
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Good luck Kath! I'm still painting in my kitchen! ;-)

My you are lucky, I can see we will be seeing pictures of this makeover before you set off for the NEC. Have fun. It's not the taking down it's the putting it all away into those new units that will be a nightmare. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteP.S. How's buddy's shoulder??
Wow Kath that was speedy work. Good luck and hang on to the thought of the finished room! x
ReplyDeleteLucky you! My hubby would probably have run in the opposite direction!
ReplyDeleteHe is a brave man! Do you hire him out by any chance - lol.... Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing it all done!
ReplyDeleteOh my word Kath good job you are off to the NEC next week but who knows what Demolition Man will get up to while you are away. Wher will you start deciding what needs to go back in. Expecting a big sale of stuff x
ReplyDeleteYour husband is amazing! I do most of the decorating but if I need help from my husband I have a long wait and lots of reminding before anything happens. Excited to see the new look cubbyhole. X
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Maybe you could convince your husband to do workshops on "getting stuff done this century"? I'm still waiting for mine to put some shelves in a cupboard I'd requested when we moved in 7 years ago! lol. x
ReplyDeleteWow Kath, could you send Mr. kath down to me in Cornwall? I've got some work he could do lol. x
ReplyDeleteYou're very brave Kath to attempt this before Christmas! Hope all goes smoothly for the cubbyhole crew.
