Today I'm sharing the first of my October DT projects for Inspiration Emporium and if this month flies in like the last 9 months have...Halloween will be here before we know...
The challenge this month over at Inspiration Journal is...
IN DISGUISE
to transform an item or use it in a way that is different...
so I decided to turn an empty jam/jelly jar that was destined for the recycle bin
into a Halloween Trick or Treat Party Lantern...
I started off creating the fabulous crackle technique that Tim shared at Creative Chemistry 102...painting the jar with a coat of Ranger Matte Glue and Seal and once it was dry...applied a medium-thick coat of Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint and set it aside to wait for the crackly magic to happen...this waiting for stuff to dry is a killer for this impatient crafty person so in the meantime I stamped images from Mini Blueprints onto watercolour card and coloured with Distress Markers...spritzed scraps of card with Wild Honey Distress Spray Stain (my new addiction) stamped the sentiments from Simple Sayings and fixed to the jar with Glossy Accents.into a Halloween Trick or Treat Party Lantern...
We would love you to join us over at Inspiration Journal for this month's challenge so be sure to pop over throughout October to check out what my lovely team-mates have been making to inspire you. The challenge will run until the witching hour on 31st October so you have loads of time to get creative and can enter as many times as you wish...there will be a fabulous $50 shopping credit for one lucky winner to spend at Inspiration Emporium and who knows that might just be YOU. In the meantime if you pop over for some shopping..remember to use my code "allthatglitter" when you checkout to receive a 10% discount. Shipping rates are pretty cool too...$5 to the US and $10 International.
See you all tomorrow to share the Christmas Advent Wreath tutorial
