Simon Says...Stamp It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because ...

and the theme for this week is...
STAMP IT
I'm sure you all know that STAMPtember is a very special month in the Simon Says Stamp Store calendar and this week we are asking you to use a stamp, no digi images allowed.
And we are welcoming the lovely and super talented Carol Harper aka Carol Stamps into the Designer Spotlight this month. If you haven’t visited Carol’s fabulous blog before then now is the time to drop by to say ‘Hi’ and leave her a lovely comment.
The Design Team are showcasing exclusive products from Simon Says Stamp and I used the "On A String"stamp set from the STAMPtember release to decorate my Christmas Planner...

I die cut the covers from thick chipboard and if I'm honest I prefer to use MatBoard which is a much smoother surface but there was a bit of  a blip in the cubbyhole ordering system and I'm waiting for more to arrive...
I fixed the covers together with strong adhesive and applied a coat of White Gesso on both sides...
masked off the bottom section and painted with Pumice Stone Distress Paint...
and sanded lightly to smooth the surface and to create a textured look...
I die cut the snowflakes using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Snowflakes die, laid them on the cover for positioning and stamped the strings from the On A String stamp set with Potting Soil Archival Ink...
I then stamped the snowflakes with the Happy Holidays sentiment using the same ink...
I fixed the snowflakes in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte, added Merriment and Tidings Design Tape and applied a coat of Collage Medium over the entire surface giving a nice slick surface for some Distress Crayon shading...
I used Broken China to colour the centres of the snowflakes and Walnut Stain to create shadows...
and added interest to the background using one of my favourite snowflakes from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Weathered Winter inked with Sky Blue Archival...
I decorated the strings with stars from On A String inked with Red Geranium Archival...
stamped the sentiments with Black Archival and the tiny snowflake from On A String with Versamark, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set, added Idea-ology Label Letters and a generous splattering of White Gesso...
I coloured Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon with Candied Apple Distress Spray Stain...
added Christmas Typed Tokens highlighted with Picket Fence Distress Crayon and Eclectic Elements thread bows...
Idea-ology Metallic Stickers and a double Crinkle Ribbon bow...
now I'm all set to plan Christmas 2017
