It's All About Flowers Week...

Hi folks, crafting virtually came to a standstill last week due to the unexpected glorious sunshine weather and the cubbyhole crew were on lasting all day coffee breaks, just relaxing in the fresh air and enjoying that much needed top-up of Vitamin D. Great while it lasted but with the weather forecast to be very unsettled this week, rain, rain and more rain apparently, we're heading back to our happy crafting space for some playtime with some new Simon Says Stamp goodies.
I'm continuing the Flower theme from yesterday's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and will be sharing cards this week made with the same supplies...49th & Market Virtual Artistry 6 x 6 Paper Pad, 36 sheets of beautiful double sided papers in a soft neutral colour palette, the Even More Spring Flowers stamp set and matching dies from Simon Says Stamp and for the sentiments Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks Words and Script Thanks dies. And surprise, surprise, in my world, no project is complete unless it has something Tim Holtz, so I will be adding a little bit of Stampers Anonymous magic each day into the mix...
and here's today's "Even More Spring Flowers" Monochromatic Card...
I stamped one of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes on to the Virtual Artistry paper with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink (the more observant amongst you will notice that the ink in the photo is Frayed Burlap which was going to be my first choice but I had a change of heart). I then stamped the Even More Spring Flowers images just for placement with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink.
I re-stamped the images on to a matching sheet of the Virtual Artistry Paper (there are 4 sheets of each design in the pad)
die-cut using the matching dies, coloured with Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide re-inkers using the Distress Detailer brush, fixed in place over the original stamping and added white dots using a Sakura Jelly Roll Pen.
I then die-cut the shadow portion of the Script Thanks from the paper, added a panel of matching paper on the reverse and then die cut 3 layers of the Script Word from white card coloured with Black Soot Distress Oxide...
layered the word die-cuts and fixed them in place in the negative shadow space.
I added thin strips cut from the MFT Dots and Stripes Black and White Paper Pack
and added the sentiment from Big Thanks Words inked with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black.
I used Black Soot Distress Oxide to darken the edges of the panel and to create splatters on the background, added Studio Katia Clear Round Drops and fixed the panel to a 6" x 6" white card blank.
I'll be back tomorrow with Even More Spring Flowers, in the meantime have fun whatever you are creating.
Toodle-oo for now
