Simon Says...Flower Power

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
FLOWER POWER
I decorated an Idea-ology Mini Clipboard inspired by a beautiful old vintage postcard I found in a thrift shop featuring a 1950's girl posing in an English Country Garden.
I removed the hinge clip and covered the clipboard with torn strips of Idea-ology Memoranda Paper  and Worn Wallpaper, using this beautiful image from one of the papers as my 1950's girl. I used my go-to adhesive, Distress Collage Medium Matte to fix them down and once dry, I used the Tim Holtz Sanding Grip to neaten up the edges.
I scribbled on Vintage Photo Distress Crayon, moved it around with my finger to create a vintage look and applied Ranger Opague Crackle Texture Paste through the Bricked Layering Stencil.
Once the cracks had appeared, I used a Gathered Twigs Distress Crayon to darken up the edges of the papers and highlight the crackle and very importantly, remembered to repunch the holes.
I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Deckles to die cut frames from Memoranda Paper and Worn Wallpaper, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and added sections of Botanical Collage Paper.
Then it was time to put my little Sidekick friend to work, die cutting lots of Funky Florals 3 Thinlits blooms from Distress Core'dinations papers and scraps of white card.
I added Idea-ology Dapper Brads to the centres of the large flowers, added Glossy Accents to the berries on the die-cut foliage and centres of the white flowers.

I painted the hinge clip with a couple of coats of white gesso, added Ranger Opague Crackle Texture Paste, rubbed Gathered Twigs Distress Crayon into the detail, buffed with a soft cloth and fixed back in place.
I added Idea-ology Tiny Text Remnant Rubs and a Quote Token which I sanded to give a worn look and highlighted the wording with a Picket Fence Distress Crayon.
