and the theme for this week is...
HALLOWEEN/SPOOKY
HALLOWEEN/SPOOKY
I decorated an Etcetera Tag for the grandkiddies, with the friendly ghosts from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Village Graveyard, nothing too scary, don't want to give them nightmares
I cut Distress Mixed Media Heavystock to be slightly larger than an Idea-ology Small Etcetera Tag, smooshed Dried Marigold, Pumice Stone and Weathered Wood Distress Oxide inks on to my craft sheet and pulled the paper through the inks. In the words of our adorable Professor "don't freak your freak" at this stage, just dry with your heat tool
I added Dusty Concord to my craft mat and continued layering the colours, drying between each layer until I was happy with the result
I added further layers of Dusty Concord and Black Soot using a mini round blending tool, spritzed with water and dabbed with a paper towel to create that oxidised droplet look.
I die cut the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Swirling Stars Thinlits
and added a section of paper coloured with Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks using the same technique behind the panel. I stamped the branch from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Bones, the house from Haunted House with Black Soot Archival, fixed the panel to the Etcetera Tag with Distress Collage Medium Matte and sanded the edges to remove the excess paper.
I used the mini Stars Shifter Stencil from Set 37 with Dusty Concord and Black Soot to add some interest in the open space.
I used a left over piece of the previously coloured card to create the word panel, using the ruler from Tim Holtz/Tonic Media Tool Set to make sure that the Alphanumeric 1" Thinlits were aligned straight
I coated White Eclectic Elements thread with Distress Collage Medium Matte using my fingers and pressed in place I die cut the ghosts from white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Village Graveyard, fixed black card behind their faces and popped up on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I die cut the "2" using Alphanumeric 1" Thinlits 3 times from white card and once from coloured card, layered together, fixed in place and added an Eclectic Elements thread bow.I covered the ghosts with scrap paper and added splatters of White Gesso using my new best friend, the Tim Holtz Splat Box which, believe me, saves me having to hose down my workdesk, the floor and anything else within splattering range. You can collapse the box for easy storage but because I'm a regular splatterer and have a space at the side of my workdesk, I will be leaving mine assembled.
I used the mini Star Shifter Stencil again with White and Black Gesso applied through the stencil with a mini round blending tool.
I stamped the letters from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Gothic Foam Stamps on to Plain Collage Paper using Black Soot Archival and Versamark ink, heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I cut out the individual letters, trimming as close to the edge as I could, applied a light coat of Ranger Multi Medium Matte to the surface and added the letters slightly offset to create a shadow effect.
I die cut the gate and tombstones from white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Village Graveyard Thinlits, coloured with Pumice Stone, Black Soot and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide inks using a mini round blending tool and decorated with Idea-ology Halloween Remnant Rubs.
I fixed Idea-ology Mummy Cloth to the panel with dots of Ranger Multi Medium Matte and added the gate and tombstone die-cuts.
