Back On The Road...

Hi folks, following on from yesterday's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme of Transport It, I'm sharing another rusty crusty card from the same creating backgrounds adventure, using some of the colours from the latest release of Distress Oxide Sprays from Tim Holtz and Ranger. I had my adorable Professor in mind when I made this card and I hope Tim and Mario will be back on the road again soon, doing what they love and sharing so generously with us all, their passion and knowledge of all things Distress. They may not be travelling by car, but knowing Tim's love of all things vintage, I have a sneaky feeling he might love to take a trip in this old jalopy.

I added some stitching across the bottom of the panel to add texture and to ground the stamped image of the car.

I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Destination Thinlits from Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and coloured with Rusty Hinge, Iced Spruce, Ground Espresso Distress Spray Stains and Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray

and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Self Adhesive sheet to a scrap of Idea-ology Classic KraftStock, die-cut the letters 3 times using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Lower CutOut Thinlits and layered to create dimension.

I repeated using Tim Holtz/Sizzix CutOut Script and Alphanumeric Thin Thinlits to complete the sentiment.

I inked the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous The Professor with Ground Espresso Distress Archival Ink, stamped on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Distress Markers and Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray using a Distress Detailer Brush and fussy cut.

I fixed the images to the panel with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension, added Idea-ology Tiny Text Remnant Rubs, matted the panel on to 2 layers of Classic KraftStock and fixed to a 6" x 4.3/4" card blank.

I have two backgrounds left from that Distress Oxide Spray adventure and I think I may have rushed in and made a pig's ear of both so the question is...will I be able to turn things around or will they be consigned to the "only fit for die-cutting" box. Only time will tell.
