I'm So Easily Distracted

Hi folks, I've been trying to get ahead of the game with the crafty list because Wimbledon is just around the corner and I'll be spending lots of time curled up on the sofa watching tennis. So I've planned out what I need to do each day to achieve that couch potato time-out goal but hey things don't always go to plan. I was over the moon when my Guest Designer parcel of the latest release stamps arrived from AALL&Create and there was lots of oohing and aahing going on as the, pencilled in for yesterday morning, priming of all the stamps with Versamark Onyx Black ink commenced. One of those boring but necessary tasks in my opinion.
BUT, I'm so easily distracted and the intended plan was immediately abandoned when I saw this gorgeous image from Botanicals Modified #207 designed by Bipasha BK, perfect to use with an old favourite technique to create a set of 6 notecards.
So here are my quick, easy and very simple cards as far removed from yesterday's rusty crusty as you can get.

I trimmed 6 - 3.1/2" x 5.1/2" panels from Distress Watercolor card and 3 panels the same size from  Simon Says Stamp Masking Paper and fixed the Sizzix Framelits Standard Circle, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Deckle and Stitched Ovals Thinlits in place on the masking paper panels with washi tape and die-cut.
I added the masking paper panels and die-cuts to the Distress Watercolor card.
I blended 3 of my favourite Distress Oxide colours over the apertures, spritzed with water and blotted with kitchen towel to create that water droplet effect.
I repeated the process with the other three panels
I made sure that the panels and masking papers were dry and carefully peeled the masks back on themselves to remove. If the masks are not dry, you may get some sticky residue left behind but it's easy to remove by rubbing with your finger or an adhesive eraser.
Sadly the large panel masks are not reuseable which you might think is a bit wasteful and that the same effect could be achieved by using card or acetate but in my experience, because the masking paper is so thin and can be burnished on to the card panel, you get perfect shapes everytime with no bleeding of the ink around the edges.
I inked the image with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped on to each panel
trimmed the panels down by 1/4" and fixed to 3.1/2" x 5.1/2" white card blanks using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.  I deliberately didn't add any sentiments which means they can be used for any occasion or just to send a personal note and would make a great gift for a non-crafty friend.

But I must dash, because I'm planning on getting back on track with the priming production line this morning and will be trying my best not to get distracted again. Have fun whatever you are creating.
