AALL&Create - Curiosities

Hi folks, I'm sharing my AALL&Create Guest Designer project using the Curiosities #209 stamp set designed by Tracy Evans and my favourite AALL&Create Stencil #39 Lotza Dotz designed by Autour DeMwa to create a Mixed Media Art Panel.

For this project, I used a Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink 5" x 7" Hard Core Art Panel which is the perfect substrate for mixed media techniques using Alcohol Inks, Pearls, Mixatives and Blending Solution. Hard Core Art Panels are double sided vinyl with an engineered wood rigid core MDF board offering an ideal surface that remains rigid and flat. The vinyl is mounted with a PH non yellowing permanent adhesive which creates a ready to use bright white, lightly textured surface. I began by sprinkling Rubbing Alcohol all over the panel and added drops of Patina Alcohol ink, moving it around the panel with my heat tool. I repeated the process with drops of Lemonade, Amethyst and Stream Alcohol ink, drying each layer with my heat tool and finally added drops of Rubbing Alcohol
While the ink was still tacky, I pressed Ranger Foil Sheets on to the panel.
I inked the image from ALL&Create #209 Curiosities with Black Soot Distress Archival ink and stamped on the panel.
I applied Texture Paste Opague Matte randomly on the panel using the #39 Lotza Dotz Stencil.
I created circles on the panel by tracing through the stencil with a Sakura Black Glaze Pen and added Glossy Accents.
I inked the sentiments from the stamp set with Versamark ink, stamped on to black card and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I cut into strips, sanded the edges to reveal the white core of the card and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

I added Glossy Accents to the heart in the centre of the flower and randomly on the Texture Paste Stencilled circles.

  1. Morning Kath, sorry if I missed a post or two but am trying to catch up.
This looks amazing, love all the textures and colours plus the touch of gold, I have only just started playing around with foil sheets and am so hooked on what you can do with them, even on wood etc. Thanks for sharing. xx
