Simon Says - Midsummer Blues

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
MIDSUMMER BLUES
I embraced nature this week to create two-for-the price of one Midsummer Blue cards using some of my favourite Distress colours with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Poinsettia Pieces Thinlits and Stampers Anonymous Dots and Circles and Tiny Toadstools from the new release.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 2 - 5" square panels, coloured one with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink and the other with Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky using the familiar by now "applying ink to my craft mat and dragging the panel through" technique.
I die-cut the multi coloured panel with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Poinsettia Pieces Thinlits and fortunately all the pieces stayed in place.
I flipped the panel over and applied teeny dots of Distress Collage Medium Matte to the negative pieces using a Ranger Fine Tip Applicator, carefully lifted the panel and pressed down on to it's neighbour.
I inked the Dots background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dots and Circles with Antique Linen and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks and stamped on to the matching backgrounds to create a tone-n-tone effect and stamped the tiny splatters from Tiny Toadstools with Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky.
I stamped the script and one of the toadstool images inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival on to the panels
I inked the specimens image with Ground Espresso and stamped on to scrap card coloured with Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks, fussy cut and fixed to Idea-ology Vial Labels. I added Eclectic Elements thread and a bow and fixed in place on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I added splatters of White Gesso and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink to the backgrounds and Ranger Enamel Accents to the centres of the Poinsettia Pieces. I fixed the panels to white card trimmed slightly larger using Mini Foam Adhesive.

I used Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers for the sentiments
and fixed the panels to 6" x 6" card blanks which I had covered with contrasting colours of Classic Kraft Stock
