Simon Says - Tag It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month (I know, I can't believe it's March already either) is when the Design Team feature products from one particular company or designer and this month it's the turn of Tim Holtz. You don't have use them to join in the challenge but we're pretty sure you all have some of Tim's amazing products in your stash and we would love to see what you make using them.
We are also welcoming the lovely and very talented Ann Chuang as our Designer In The Spotlight and if you haven't already visited her blog, you are in for a real treat.

and the theme for this week is...
TAG IT
I decorated a Medium Etcetera Tag to say thanks to Tim Holtz, my adorable Professor, for his "what if" inquisitive mind, his ability to come up with amazing products year after year, always innovative and pushing the boundaries, with something for everyone and right on trend. Needless to say he did it again with the latest releases from Creativation 2020 and there was no doubt, it was going to be a no-brainer "The Professor 2 and Distress Embossing Glazes" kind of a tag.

1. I began by applying a light coat of White Gesso to the tag followed by a mix of Antique Linen and Ground Espresso Distress Paints.
2. I fixed torn strips of Idea-ology Abandoned paper using Distress Collage Medium Matte and brushed on a light coat of Antique Linen Distress Paint.
3. I inked the large circle image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Glitch 1 with Ranger Distress Embossing ink, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and heat set. While the embossing was still hot, I sprinkled on Weathered Wood and Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Glazes and reheated until melted.
4. I inked the circle image from Glitch 1 with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and stamped randomly on the background.
1. I stamped the alphabet and numbers image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Grunged, inked with Faded Jeans Distress Archival, sprinkled with Weathered Wood Embossing Glaze and heated until melted.
2. I repeated this process with the small circle and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
 3. I inked the numbers image from The Professor 2 with Ground Espresso Distress Archival and stamped randomly on the background.
4. Then it was time to stamp the star of the show. I inked the head section with Ground Espresso and the jacket with Faded Jeans Distress Archival inks, stamped on to Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock and fussy cut.
1. I used Ranger Cut 'n Dry with the Distress Archival inks to add a little shading on the edges and  fixed The Professor 2 in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
2. I tapped White Gesso lightly on to an Idea-ology Stencil Chip and Foundry Adornment, sprinkled with the Embossing Glazes and heat set. I repeated this process several times until I was happy with the coverage but be careful because the metal does get very HOT.
3. I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Weathered Wood and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks, tapped the Distress Embossing ink pad over the card, sprinkled with the Embossing Glazes, heat set and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Upper Thinlits. I fixed the words in place with Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive and added an Idea-ology Quote Chip embossed on the edges with Rusty Hinge Distress Embossing Enamel using a Distress Embossing Pen.
4. I die-cut circles from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Classic KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Circles Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
To finish I added Idea-ology Numbers Remnant Rubs, |Hardware Heads, Ruler Ribbon, Measurement and Professor cut from an Idea-ology Clippings Sticker.

and my tag is taking pride of place on the Rogues Gallery wall in the cubbyhole.
