If you missed the launch, you can catch up over on Tim's Blog HERE and check out all the new Dies, Texture Fades and so many inspirational samples. I wasn't going to be sharing this card just yet but hey it is Christmas in July after all and I've had so many requests, so here we go.
A card designed to be opened out for display on a mantlepiece or table and seriously my friends, it didn't take as long to make as you might think, it was all about working in stages, creating the panels, die-cutting the Falling Stars backgrounds, assembling and then die-cutting the stars of the show followed by the alphabet letters and numbers.
I began by scoring white card to make 3 - 5.1/2" square cards and fixed them together to create an accordion card with 4 panels
I coloured Distress Watercolor card with Black Soot Distress Spray Stain, Weathered Wood and Salty Ocean Distress Spray Oxides, dried, spritzed with water and Brushed Pewter Distress Mica Spray. I trimmed the pieces to measure 4.1/2" x 3.1/4", die-cut using Falling Stars Thinlits and saved all the waste in a small cello bag.
I trimmed 6 pieces of Idea-ology Silver Metallic KraftStock to the same size as the card panels, fixed the die-cut stars panel in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and hand cut a snowy bank for the bottom of each panel. At this stage I had a change of heart, trimmed off the silver edging from the panels to make them 5" square and fixed them to the 4 panels of the card using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
Now it was time to die-cut Santa's team, all 9 reindeer - Rudolph and Friends (Dancer, Prancer, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Vixen, Donner and Dasher). I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Idea-ology Subtrates and die cut the body and antlers using the Papercut Christmas 2 Colorize Thinlits.
I flipped 4 of the die-cut reindeer so that they would be looking the other way, added the rest of the colorize pieces die-cut from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and, of course, the leader of the team aka Rudolph had to have a big red shiny nose.
I fixed Rudolph to the front panel popped up on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Distress Watercolor card and red Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and die cut the letters and numbers using Alphanumeric Shadow Lower and Numbers thinlits. I added strips of Idea-ology Christmas Paper and Design Tape and fixed some of the waste stars from the Falling Stars Thinlits panel in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I fixed the rest of the reindeer to the inner panels, added the sentiments die-cut using Alphanumeric Shadow Lower and Lower CutOut Thinlits
Here are some close-ups of the inside panels
