Simon Says - Early Birds

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
EARLY BIRDS
In my book, it's never too early to make a start on your Christmas cards, better to be an early bird than a rushing at the last-minuter, although I don't always practice what I preach. I'm sharing a card made using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe and Stacked Triangles Tile Thinlits from the Chapter 3 release, easy to mass produce and change up the colours to suit.
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 6" and coloured using Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks using the smooshing technique. Basically, I smooshed the inks pads on to my Media Mat, spritzed with water, picked up the ink with a piece of plastic and transferred to the textured side of the Distress Watercolor card and repeated until I was happy with the background. I inked around the edge with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool, spritzed with water to create the water droplet look.
I die-cut the hat and scarf from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe Thinlits and left the die-cuts in place. I masked off the fringed areas of the scarf and coloured with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Sprays.
I coloured 2 more panels of Distress Watercolor card with the same colours of Distress Oxide Sprays which co-ordinated perfectly with the colours on the Idea-ology Wallpaper
and die-cut trees using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Triangles Thinlits. I trimmed the tree trunks from scraps of Distress Watercolor Card coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink and arranged on the panel using Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
I added Clippings Stickers from the Idea-ology Christmas Sticker Book
I machine stitched randomly around the edge, matted on to a 4.3/4" x 6.3/4" panel of Distress Watercolor Card coloured with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks as before and fixed to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
