Simon Says - Layer It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month means the design team are showcasing products from one particular brand or company and this month it's the turn of the amazing Tim Holtz. You don't have to use Tim's products to join in the challenge but I'm sure you all have some of his products in your stash and we would love to see how you use them.
We are also welcoming the lovely Autumn aka SewPaperPaint as this month's Designer In The Spotlight and if you haven't visited her blog before, pop over and say hi, you are in for a treat.
The theme for this week is...
LAYER IT
I created layers on my Dina Wakley Media Journal page using Distress Paints, Idea-ology Collage Papers, Distress Crackle Texture Paste with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Layering Stencil and Halftone and Rings stamp set. I stitched around the edges of the panel to add another layer of texture and layered up the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstroke Flowers 3 Thinlits flower to add more dimension.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to 6" x 8.1/2", spritzed the card with water and added Antique Linen, Kitsch Flamingo, Shabby Shutters and Frayed Burlap Distress Paints with my fingers, messy but great fun. I fixed torn strips of  Idea-ology Typography Collage Paper in place with Distress Collage Medium and applied Distress Crackle Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mosaic Mini Layering Stencil from Set 28. I used the small Distress Brayer to add Walnut Stain Distress Paint to a small section of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Rings stamp from Halftone and Rings and pressed the stamp on to the background randomly. I repeated with the Halftone stamp using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Paint, sprinkled with Kitsch Flamingo Embossing Enamel and heat set.
I added the leaves from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Botanical and strips of script from Entomology Collage Papers
I applied Distress Collage Medium Matte over the entire panel and coloured the collage paper leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Crayon and Distress Detailer Brush.
I stitched around the edge of the panel adding another layer of texture
I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Brushstrokes Flowers 3 Thinlits 3 times from Distress Watercolor card. I smooshed Antique Linen and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and laid one of the die-cut flowers into the ink, dried and tapped back in to the ink to pick up any remaining droplets.
I shaped the petals with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Shaping Kit and layered the 3 flowers, slightly offset to create dimension
I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint to the flower and fixed to the panel. I added foliage from the Brushstrokes Flower 3 Thinlits die-cut from Distress Watercolor card and Ranger Glossy Accents to the black flower centre and splatters.
I added an Idea-ology Mini Flair button and stickers from the Idea-ology Clippings Sticker Book
To finish, I matted the panel on to BlackOut KraftStock trimmed to create a small border and fixed in my Dina Wakley Media Journal.
