Hi my friends, I'm sharing the Tag Book I made for the YouTube Live launch of the Tim Holtz/Sizziz Chapter 2 release using Funky Insects, Flower Field and Countdown Thinlits, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flower Shop, Idea-ology Ephemera and Sentiments Label Stickers. If you missed the Live, you can watch the replay and check out all the amazing projects from the Makers over on Tim's Blog HERE.
I began by spritzing 6 - Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock #8 Tags with water and sprayed with Antique Linen and Iced Spruce Distress Spray Stains, allowing the colours to run and blend to create a soft vintage style background. I dried the tags and repeated the process to add colour to the back of each tag.
I sprayed Ground Espresso Spray Stain on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed lightly with water, tapped the stamps from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flower Shop into the stain and holding the stamps in my hands, stamped to create a watercolour effect on both sides of the tags.
I fixed the tags together using Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Tape leaving a slight gap between each tag to allow for folding.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to dark brown Classic KraftStock, die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field Thinlits and fixed to the tags varying the height on each tag.
I fixed Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Distress Watercolor card and die-cut the Flower Field Thinlits again. I spritzed Speckled Egg and Fossilized Amber Distress Spray Stain on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed the card with water, laid on to the stains and dried. I tapped the card back into the stains to pick up the remaining droplets
I added Idea-ology Ephemera on each tag and fixed the Flower Field die-cuts in place, matching them up with the brown layer but arranging slightly offset to create a drop shadow and the look of dimension. I die-cut the numbers from brown Classic KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Countdown Thinlits, sanded and fixed in place using Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the insects from Idea-ology Classic and black card from Idea-ology Neutral KraftStock, Vellum and the left over Distress Watercolor card used for Flower Field which I covered with Idea-ology Entomology Collage Paper, using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Insects Thinlits and assembled. I added embossing ink to the bodies and wings, except the vellum wings on the bee, using the Distress Embossing Pen, sprinkled with Distress Embossing Glazes in matching colours and heat set.
