Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 3 - Potted 2

Hi my friends, I'm sharing the Etcetera Tag I decorated for the Tim Holtz/Sizzix YouTube Live launch of Chapter 3 dies, using Potted BigZ die, Stacked Rectangles Thinlits and one of my all time favourites from a previous release, Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits. If you missed the Live, you can watch on replay to check all the new releases and the amazing amazing projects from all the makers over on Tim's blog HERE.

I began by covering the Small Etcetera Tag with paper from Idea-ology Abandoned 8" x 8" Paper Stash, added cork panels die-cut with Stacked Rectangles and added pieces of Idea-ology Field Notes Snippets all fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I used cork from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Textured Surfaces which is now a retired product but you could create your own textured panels using a Tim Holtz/Sizzix Texture Fade, as I should have done, now I think about it, always wise after event.
I added Distress Crackle Texture Paste randomly over the cork using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Grime Layering Stencil.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix BigZ die Potted twice from Sizzix Matboard
and Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card.
I coloured the Wildflower Stems using Fossilized Amber, Speckled Egg, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain Distress Re-inkers using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I painted the pot and rim with Speckled Egg Distress Paint and while the paint was wet, sprinkled randomly with Speckled Egg and Walnut Stain Embossing Glazes and heat set. I re-heated the pot and rim, added more Embossing Glaze to built up layers of colour and heat set between each layer.  I fixed the rim in place with foam adhesive, added foam adhesive to the back of the flowers and tucked Mummy Cloth from Idea-ology Halloween Trimmings behind the flowers.
I fixed the pot to the tag and added Idea-ology Transparent Wings and Clippings Stickers.

To finish I painted a Hinge Clip with Speckled Egg Distress Paint, sprinkled with Speckled Egg and Walnut Stain Embossing Glazes and heat set. A word of warning, the metal gets very hot so use tweezers or similar to hold it while heating. I added the clip to the top of the tag with a strip of Mummy Cloth.

I'll be back soon to share another Chapter 3 project, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are making.
Hugs Kath xxxx

  2. Simply glorious! The crackled cork detailing, the fabulous daisies, and that brilliant pot. I want to create that surface on all my real-life pots in the garden... but that's going to be a LOT of embossing powder!! Brilliant.
