Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Focus On The Good

Hi my friends, I love the Bold Sayings stamp sets that Tim launched for Christmas 2020 and apparently so do you, they have proved to be so popular that, woohoo, we now have a set with everyday sentiments. I'm sharing the card I made for the YouTube Live Launch of the new stamps and stencils from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous using Bold Sayings and surprise, surprise, a trio of Inquisitive Gents. If you missed the Live launch, you can check out the new stamps and stencils and all the amazing inspirational projects from the makers on Tim's blog HERE.

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than an A2 card blank and used my  my favourite Distress Custom Blend ink pad (Antique Linen/Old Paper Distress Ink and Speckled Egg/Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Ink) to create a neutral background.
I stamped the bullseye image from Inquisitive, inked with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and the sentiment from Bold Sayings with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.
I stamped the image of the 3 gents above the sentiment using Black Soot Distress Archival ink. With the Bold Sayings stamp still in the same position on the lid of my Stamp Platform, I moved the panel very slightly to the left, placed the Simon Says Stamp Grid Transparency on top and stamped the sentiment again with Black Soot Distress Archival. A great inexpensive tool for checking that sentiments are straight or in this case, properly aligned to create a drop shadow and a quick wipe with hand sanitiser and it's ready for next time.
I masked the bottom section of the stamp, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped on to the panel.
I repeated this process on the top section, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Archival and stamped.
I scribbled randomly over the bottom section of the sentiment with a Distress Embossing Pen, sprinkled with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set.

I added andIdea-ology Mini Flair button and at this point decided to add a little more interest in the background. I applied Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink randomly through the Dotted Line Layering Stencil, sprinkled sparingly with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set.
To finish I matted the panel on to an  A2 card blank covered with Idea-ology Classic KraftStock, sanded to reveal the kraft core.

I did warn you that I may be slightly obsessed with Inquisitive and Bold Sayings, so I'll be back tomorrow to share another slightly more colourful version.
Happy Crafting
Hugs Kath xxx
