Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - More Bold Sayings

Hi my friends, it's Friday already and the weekend beckons with the exciting news of another YouTube Live with my adorable Professor showcasing his Sizzix Chapter 3 release. Woohoo, I've booked my front row seat, so set your alarms and start planning your snacks for another fun and inspiring Saturday night party over at Tim and Mario's place.

and here's a little sneaky peek of all my makes, which I'll be sharing soon

In the meantime, I'm sharing two more cards and indulging my obsession with the Bold Sayings stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous.
I used a background that I created inspired by one of Tim's YouTube Live demos using Distress Watercolor card, Floral Layering Stencil and Evergreen Bough and Frayed Burlap Distress Stains to create a monoprint effect on the background. I stamped the Bold Sayings sentiment, inked with Evergreen Bough and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks and the Floral Outline images with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.
I added Idea-ology Transparent Wings, decorated with brown thread for the antennae and Idea-ology Metallic Droplets.
I matted the panel on to a slightly larger panel of Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than A2 and created a neutral background using Old Paper Distress Spray Stain with the smooshing technique. I stamped the image from Floral Outline and the sentiments from Bold Sayings inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I coloured the Floral Outline image with Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stains using a small paintbrush, drying between layers to create shadows and depth of colour.
I sprinkled Melt Art Gold Extra Thick Embossing Enamel randomly over the panel and heat set from underneath.
I attached Sizzix Adhesive sheet to a scrap of Simon Says Stamp Vellum, inked the word FRIEND with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, heat set, trimmed around the word and fixed in place slightly offset to create a drop shadow.
To finish, I matted the panel on to a slightly larger panel of Idea-ology Black KraftStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
Happy Crafting

  1. So nice to see these cards; I have such a hard time with these big bold words - not really sure what to do with them (I have a tendency to lean toward the smaller things but would like to broaden my world a little). I see them and like them but then when I think about how I'd create with them I hit a wall. You've given me some ideas; thank you so much for sharing. I like everything you create - honestly and truthfully. Have a great weekend. :)
