Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Jolly Santa

Hi my friends, the countdown to Christmas has begun, only 8 more sleeps until Santa arrives so I'm sharing the last of the cards I made for the YouTube Live launch of the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas release using the gorgeous Jolly Santa. If you missed the Live, you can catch up and be inspired by all the amazing projects from the Makers over on Tim's Blog HERE.

I began by stamping the Santa image on to masking paper and fussy cut.
I stamped the Santa image inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink on to a 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" panel of Distress Watercolor card and placed the mask on top. I spritzed Kitsch Flamingo, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stains on to the craft mat on my glass media mat and dragged the panel through the stains. I dried and tapped back into the remaining droplets of stains until I was happy with the background and dried. With the mask still in place, I inked the word images from the stamp set with Versamark ink, stamped randomly over the background, sprinkled with White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.
I removed the mask and felt that the Hickory Smoke was too light but luckily the Santa image was still in the same place on the lid of my stamp platform, so I re-inked it with Black Soot Distress Archival and re-stamped. I coloured Santa using Kitsch Flamingo, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Hickory Smoke Distress Re-inkers and used Sakura Black Glaze and White Gelly Roll pens to draw in the eyes.
I matted the panel on to green Idea-ology KraftStock trimmed to be slightly larger and fixed on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
Have fun with whatever you are creating
Hugs Kath xxx
