Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
LET'S ART JOURNAL
I created a page in my Stamperia Stone Paper Mixed Media Journal to celebrate the arrival of Spring using Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette Collection paper, Simon Says Stamp Petal Lattice Stencil, images from Simon Says Stamp A Little Artsy stamp set, Simon Says Stamp A Little Artsy Stencils and Masks and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Handwritten Celebrate and Alphanumeric Shadow Upper Thinlits.
I applied Scattered Straw Distress Paint on to the journal pages using a baby wipe and fixed torn strips of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette Collection paper in place using Distress Collage Medium and a Distress Collage Brush. I applied Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink through Simon Says Stamp Petal Lattice Stencil usinga Mini Round Blending Tool and repeated, slightly offset with Distress Grit Paste Opaque.
I stamped the floral image from Simon Says Stamp a Little Artsy stamp set on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I applied Scattered Straw Distress Oxide ink through Simon Says Stamp A Little Artsy Stencil using a Mini Round Blending Tool and with the stencil still in place, added Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink through the Petal Lattice Stencil using a Tim Holtz Distress Mini Blending Brush.to add some detail to the images. I fussy cut the flowers with my trusty Mini Recoil Snips and coloured around the edges with a Memento Black Pen.
I placed the butterfly image from A Little Artsy on a Tim Holtz Grid Block, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped randomly on the pages.
I fixed torn strips of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Palette Collage Paper in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Handwritten Celebrate Thinlits from Distress Blackk HeavyStock and fixed to the page with Distress Collage Medium.
I fixed the flowers to the page with Simon Says Stamp 3D Thin Foam Squares to create dimension and added splatters of Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Perfect Black Splatter.
To complete the page title, I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Shadow Upper Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card and fixed in place with Simon Says Stamp 3D Foam Squares.

Sometimes you can just tell when someone has really enjoyed creating something just by the look of it, I think this is one of those times Kath. This is a gorgeous design for your journal, so bright and pretty and very 'happy'. xx
